2" wheel spacers on my XJ. Yay or nay?
Hey guys. I have the opportunity to buy 4 2" wheel spacers for $50. My xj is stock height with 30/9.5/15 bfg all terrain ko2s. Will I run Into any issues running these? Any downsides to running wheel spacers? I'd like to hear everyones thoughts. Thanks
They are 5×114.3 which is the correct size for the xj right?

I'd suggest at some point to get a 2" budget boost lift as well,I think the spacers and lift would look good together. Just my .02

Fenders/fender flares will come off. Why do you need to space the wheels? 30's are going to get friendly at stock height. And, Jeeps are 5x4 1/2". I'm not sure what that equates to.

I'm not a fan of wheel spacers. Just another thing to go wrong, if you really need the backspacing I'd save for some cheap rims with more backspacing. Just my .02. Also you didn't tell what backspacing you have now. Most people say it's not a good idea to go over 3.75 or 3.5 because of the amount of stress it puts on bearings.

All depends on how much back spacing you already have. With stock wheels 2" would be fine but at 4" or less back space I would stay away from them. And if they are not hub centric I would not run them no matter what.

The pic......if it's those? you're fine.
I have a pair on the rear of my MJ and I haul quite a bit of weight.
I even have a pair on my trailer so I could use matching Jeep wheels and I haul a tractor on that.

Only experience I have with spacers is a pair that my buddy put on his YJ. After about a year they "fused" with his hubs. We couldn't get them off to save our lives. He had some kind of axles shaft issue but couldn't get the hubs off since the spacers were stuck on. He ended up having to buy a whole new axle.
I'll never use spacers after that.

I have seen a few fail and its not pretty,Those are the cheapo ones that will fail in time.Good spacers will be 200 or more depending brand. For the same money you can buy cragar steel rims d window or soft 8 both come in a lot of sizes and back spacing.

I have 16" icons. Because this I went with spidetrax. I wanted to keep my rims. I pit the spacers on a few years ago. Now as I am getting older, plus the spacers, I too worry about them fusing to the hubs. What if I need to change rotors etc. Next year I know ill be looking for 16" steelie rims. Dont get me wrong. The spacers are working great, constantly inspecting them. However, function over looks. Get the proper rims. That's just my .02

As about everyone has posted just buy the correct steel wheel they start at around $35 or so per wheel Then you have the correct wheel for the tire size and offset you need.
Not a Band-Aid that might get you injured, do it right the first time really applies here.

Many of us with MJs use them on the rear to give the 'appearance' that the front and rear track the same, because of the width of the bed vs the front fenders.
Not a matter of the 'correct wheel'.

I apologize for not posting more information. My bfg ko2s are mounted on American racing outlaws. I'm not sure the back spacing on them. I think I'm just going to buy some steelies. And sell my current wheels. Here's some pics of my jeep
