You'll have to post a pic of the lift kit they were selling, or give us a part number.

But I promise you its not gonna be that easy.

Its probably a 3" block, for front and rear. If so, I'm going to laugh.

It's probably some generic shackle system.

It would be a 3" lift block with u bolts for leaf springs. Your buddy is right you'd need something else for the front.

first off the generic shackle is pretty well known and works very well its sold under the belltech 6400 as a chevy lowering shackle

second off the kit he refers to is the set of blocks and they are alum garbage with ubolts made for bigger axles so they are more than worthless on an XJ. better off with the shackles.

Hell i've ran the "autozone/oriellys/advance 3in blocks on a bunch of xj's and minitrucks and never broke one. only thing is the rear leafs seem to sag more but bastard pack will help!

mine has 3in blocks in the back right now.

Blocks are bad :/ a bastard pack would replace them and fix the whole issue of the blocks destroying your leafs.

Yeah ^ you just add the s10 leafs to your origional leaf pack and it will give you more lift but won't flex as well. Research some stuff in the junk yard lift thread.
