Default 35s that are good in the rain

When I bought my jeep it had some very new 30" mud terrains. It handled great in the rain. I did an 8.8 swap and added some lift so I bought some old 33s on cl to get me by until I can afford some 35s. These old Goodyear wranglers are down right dangerous in the rain. I can't really afford 35s now but I'd rather not die or hurt someone so I'm going to buy some anyway. My jeep is set up to be capable but it's my daily. I don't mind road noise so mud terrains are fine, but I'd be happy with some a/t tires, I'm sure. Does anyone have any suggestions for 35s that will handle rainy wet roads well or anything I should avoid before I go dump some cash into new tires? I want to get them soon. I'm thinking I like the cooper sst or maxxis tires but I'd like to hear some experienced suggestions.

Had a set of 35 discoverer radials on my old chevy k20. Those were pretty good all around. Would only get sideways on wet roads when I wanted to. Had st's on my van and used to make it to work and back 50 miles one way in snowstorms and all. We also use the st's on our plow trucks where I work now. Usually if a tire is good in snow it's good in rain. Any tire with siping in the treads would be fine. Of course they would still hydroplane in puddles and such. Stay away from tires with big lugs without siping.

Thanks! The tires that worked so well when I bought it had some big Ole lugs but they probably worked so well because they were new.

Ive been running Treadwright Guard Dogs with their Kedge Grip for a few months. I have got to say they are one of the best wet pavement tires Ive ever had. I am on 31s and dont know if the larger 35s would be any different because of their width but I would buy these again without hesitating. I also wouldn't have any problems recommending to family or friends. Ive yet to have them hydroplane.

I've never heard of those but hydroplaning is my current problem. I'll look them up now.

Treadwright guard dogs are great tires (I've had 4 sets) but, they don't make a 35" tire for a 15" rim

I had a set of those in 35" on my old F-250. Those were the best AT's next to the Master craft Courser AT/2's we ever had. The first generation BFG AT's, we were not impressed with at all for their price. The new style of BFG AT's appear to have better spacing between the lugs but have yet to try them out.

My Cooper STT's have really impressed me with their on road and rain handling. I had them in a downpour and they didn't feel sketchy at all. For such and aggressive tire they have a good amount of siping that really helps. I'd buy them again.

It's all good. If I have to get some rims to get the tires I really want, I will.

I am probably going to cheap out and get some general grabber AT2s unless someone chimes in hating them from experience.

why? I don't understand
I had the Terra Grapplers on my F-350 to replace the crappy Firestone tires that came stock on it
I also purchased the Trail Grapplers and the guy who bought my truck still has them on the truck.
I can't endorse Nitto enough
I will admit the mudd grapplers are terrible on the street

Hydroplaning is kind of a problem dealing with the large tire surface floating on the water. It doesn't really matter what brand you get, because no matter what brand, you're still floating on a puddle when you have a wideass tire driving atop a puddle.

Now as for traction on wet roads where there might not be a ton of water puddles, airing down slightly will make just about any tire effective at gripping more road surface, and that's free.
