That all depends on the wheels. Stock wheels?

By the time you can buy quality 2" spacers you could buy wheels with the correct off-set.

Not necessarily. Although I'd agree that unless you love the wheels you got now (assuming their stock), new wheels with appropriate back spacing is the stronger choice.

because you're putting way too much space inbetween your wheel and your wheel mounting surface and another set of bolts that has to withstand holding your wheels to your vehicle. more space = more force on the studs. I've seen a wheel spacer that had the stud shear off on the freeway. and the guy still runs wheel spacers. no his his jeep didn't explode and the wheel didn't fly off luckily. but I still can't trust it

if you're going to do it, get some good quality ones. 1.25". use loctite. but by the time you're done buying that, like lowrange said just get a whole new set of wheels

I laugh sooo hard every time I pass some cool guy on the side of the road with his lifted 1979 Ford LTD on 3 "6's" while he's hiking down the road to try find the 4th... Seen it too many times.
