Default 3" to 4.5" Lift Questions

Hello All,

I curretly have a 3" Rough Country Lift (Springs & Add a Leaf) on my 92 2WD 5spd XJ. I want to go 4.5" and give it a PreRunner Look. I have Rusty's 1" drop pitman arm & Adjustable track bar installed. Also just scored on some Hanneman front fenders.

What will I need to achieve 4.5"?? I was thinking of getting 1.5 spacer for the front and either shackles or block for the rear. Which is better shackle or block?? Will I need both lower and upper control arms? If so, which are better adjustable or fixed?? I know I will need newer and longer brake lines. Can I use the Rough Country shocks that with my 3" lift kit??

Any help, links or Pics would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!!

Don't get blocks. Hell don't even get shackles. Get new leaf packs.

You won't need upper arms untill you get to about 6+ inches. You can also relocate your brake lines.

Sweet! Thanks for the help guys! Can I reuse my shocks for the time being? I won't be hitting the trails anytime soon.

Some 3" kits actually come with the same shocks that would be included in the 4.5" lift. The best way to tell would be to compare part numbers between the two kits. This was the case on my Zone 3" and a buddies 3" Rough Country.

If that isn't the case, you'll need new shocks.
