What year is your ride?
It all depends on what you want from your ride. If you are going budget friendly and you have a 97-01 I would say stick with a 3" lift you will likely encounter less issues and will be able to keep your stock control arms and track bar which will same you some $. If you install a 3" lift now you can all ways boost it to 4.5".
My old daily driver 97 XJ with 2" spacers front and 3" OME leaf pack in back 31" BFGs
My new daily driver 99 3.5"-4" OME lift from DPG Off-Road, 31" BFGs
Good luck!

X5000 on 4.5" you'll put on the 3" and immediately want to go bigger. I was a half second away from pressing the submit order button on a 3" rustys aal kit and ended up talking myself out of it. Pick up a hack and tap and refurbished drive shaft from IRO for $199. Now i'm going to be running a 6.5" long arm kit and couldn't be happier and it's my dd.
