2001 XJ ABS fix after axle swap
Hi everyone, I am new to the forum...my question is this:
I have a 2001 XJ 4x4 with abs and plan to install a mile marker
locking hub kit and an 8.8 ford rear end, both of which will make
the abs not work. Is there anything I need to do to the brake system
or should I just pull the abs bulb on the dash and go ?
Thanks!

I have read that '92+ have the ABS unit to the side of the master cylinder against the wheel well. That is where my was on my '92. If you have the same setup then you pull the relays in the engine compartment fuse box and the fuses in there also. I just swaped in a D44 from a ABS D35 and that's all i had to pull. Works great. The light on the dash will stay on but you can cover it with tape or take the time to pull on the Dash bezel and pull the bulb. doesn't bother me much so i just left it in.
