Default 2001 cherokee 4wd 3 inch lift requirements?

So I have just ordered a 3 inch skyjacker lift. It comes with rear springs and shocks, front coils and shocks and I ordered a steering stabilizer and a 1 inch transfer case drop. I plan on getting 31x10.5x15 tires on with the lift. I was wondering what else I should get to make it drive smooth and be durable. I have read many things about wheel spacers? upper or lower control arms? trac bar lowering? Can anyone let me know what else is a necessity when lifting this thing 3 inches? I plan to take it on a road trip soon after and will be doing mostly pavement driving. I will go off road but nothing major. any help would be much appreciated!

Others may chime in for you... but with the lift you're considering here... you may seriously want to look at longer brake lines as well.

No need to extend the brake lines, you can relocate the front ones if you need to. I ran a 3" lift for a year with everything stock and never had a problem.

You're going to need an adjustable track bar or relocate yours.
If you have stock rims you'll probably want spacers to push to wheels out bc you're gonna rub like crazy with 31s
Upper control arms should be fine but youd probably want adjustable lowers or fixed lowers for your lift
You will be fine with the tcase drop but in the future you might want to get a sye.

Oh and purchase new leaf springs, not the add a leaf, unless you have relatively new leaf springs.

Also you'll want extended sway bar links or a bracket to drop yours.

And then of course an alignment or you can search how to do your own alignment, which is basically just toe adjustment.

Speaking from loads of experience, as I have a 2001 Cherokee, there are quite a few things you might consider. Here are a few.
1. Hack and tap SYE from IRO as you may have vibes. The transfer case drops are ok but are just a bandaid.
2.Bar pin eliminators front and rear. Once you get to changing the shocks youll see why. Broken bolts .
3. Novak shift cable. Lifting puts shift linkage in a bind.
4. As mentioned , with 31's, you will need spacers or wheels with a different offset.
5. If you do upper and lower control arms just go ahead and get adjustable . It will save you a headache when you go to a bigger lift.
6.While youre at it , just get an adjustable track bar.
7. Also as mentioned, extended brake lines.
8. Sway bar disconnects are a must if you plan on doing any wheeling at all.

There a re a ton of other things that can come up ... These are just the first to come to mind.

Lifting it doesn't put the transfer case linkage in a bind, it will still be in the same spot it was before in relation to the body, the only thing that affects that is a transfer case drop or worn out transmission mount.

You are correct, but the Op stated he was doing a TC drop, hence my suggestion to use a Novak cable .

I would also suggest a new rear brake line extended 4"

A 3" lift can tax the brake line at full droop, depends on your shocks..you will see at the time

A presumably 18yr old rubber brake line should be replaced as part of sensible maintenance, at this time, cost ~$20 from Rock Auto
