Interior Light Cube
Hey guys, I just had an idea and I was wondering if anyone else had thought this. My Cherokee is my hunting rig, so the vast majority of the time I am getting dressed out of the back of the jeep or unloading/loading. The factory dome lights leave a lot to be desired, and I know their are upgrade kits which I am ordering. I was thinking about trying to mount one of those light cube/bars in the back hatch area to really light up the cargo area. I figure I could try and mount it along the plastic trim up top, and then wire the switch so when I wanted it on, I could trigger it from the drivers seat. Anyone ever attempted it?

If you flush mount the light in the hatch, then when the hatch is open, you can turn it on, and it will help a lot in the cargo area & outside where you are standing.
You'd have to test to see where IN the hatch ya want to mount it, & if you want it flat or angled slightly.
Get a wide angle flood pattern, and put a switch in the hatch, so all ya do is reach up & turn it off/on.
May want a red light tho or a red cover, so ya don't spook game in the area if you're hunting close.
You could also use some rope style LED lighting along the border of the interior trim on the hatch, and that should work just as well since it is so close.
