2.5 to 4.0 throttle body swap
So,,
I picked up a used 4.0 throttle body and an Air-Raid intake while I was at the salvage yard and decided while the weather was fair ,,, that I might as well install it.
First thing was to remove the old airbox and associated stuff. With that out of the way I removed the old throttle body.
Then,,, one by one,, I swapped the 3 sensors from the 2.5 body to the 4.0 body as not to mix them up.
With that done I then re-installed the "new" throttle body back on the intake,,,fired it up. It ran very fast and took a long time to get to a stable idle. So after shutting it down I disconnected both battery terminals and totally discharged the system.
Re-connected the terminals then fired it up again.
SUCCESS !!
The idle went up to 2000 the immediately settled in at about 900-950RPMs.
With that done I then turned my attention to the intake. I had to do a little carving on the old part that clamped on the TB to get the right profile for the clamps to hold the Air-Raid in place securely, but after a few bouts of trimming,, it worked.
I then ran a 1/2" square tubing brace under the cone to further brace it.
Now for the review of the performance.
I have a LOT more low end power and torque but the mid anf upper ranges are close to the same. Maybe a little worse. I am hoping the 703 injectors I am picking up after the New Year help in those ranges. Also I am on the lookout for an exhaust header for the 2,5 to help get the exhaust out a bit faster.
I do recommend this mod..
ANY questions or whatnot just post em up and I will tell ya more.
overall I am VERY satisfied with the results.

If you look closely I also moved the vacuume bottle to the empty space on the left fender well.
This keeps it relatively safe in case I bump something while on the trail or while doing normal driving.
It was an easy move.
Any questions just ask.
