1st jeep lift
I just bought my 87 jeep cherokee about 6 months ago, and wanting to put a lift on it. i was thinking about a 2-3 inch lift (Blocks are not a option) i will also need new coil springs, i would like to spend about $500 on it, with alot of options out there and alot of opinions, i would like some feedback,
Thanks in advance

3.5 would work for me, im kinda iffy on the AAL seems alot of people dont like AAL. ive google'd the last 30 min just trying to look up the "Sag" that everyone was talking about with them. I dont mind replacing the AAL with leaf packs later on. im just trying to stay in the budget ATM

my rear leafs were crap not flat but close not a lot of arch in them. I stuck the AAL into the pack it was toast in about 3-4 months, i was towing my boat though which i am sure accelerated it.
I grabbed a couple S10 spring under packs for like 20 bucks from the scrap yard made my own packs, never looked back. I got about another inch out of the s10 packs too.

No, 3 inch your pretty safe. I've heard of some rigs gettin a 3 inch lift and getting vibes but all my buddy's are fine. Maybe a tiny bit at 70.

stay 3in or under and you save yourself some dough. Not to mention you have a bonified lcg rig.
I just bought 1.5in blocks for the rear. Regardless what internet smart guys may tell you. Small lift blocks are fine, and are even used on brand new trucks.
Good luck!

you dont have to be smart to understand why lift blocks are not the BEST option, even though they will work. Why skimp? i bought my 3'' zone aal lift with white bodies for under $400 works good so far...although taking a leaf pack apart isn't the greatest way to spend your quality time...(two leaves broke after the lift), when you could just buy a whole pack and save some headaches and gain some peace of mind. On the other hand, countless people have been lucky with aal...so its really your call.

Probably should try OME rear springs. Everyone says they ride the best?
