I just purchased my first XJ. It's a 1998 Sport. Quick question. I like a wide stance. What's the widest offset rim I can use without tire rub? If a lift is needed, could I just use those inexpensive spacers? The only off-roading I do is traveling down a semi bumpy dirt road to get to my tree stand.

Something like 5-5.5 ish backspace. Depends on what wheel you have. If your wanting something with a wider stance, check out wheels with 4ish backspace. With jeeps, we typically use backspace instead of offset. The lower the number of backspace, the more the wheel will be pushed out
