hey guys. hope everyone is well. I am probably opening up an old topic, or maybe even a sore subject but here it goes.

I am loving my 96 xj. I live in Abu Dhabi UAE and have for the past 4 years. After conquering the lack of maintenance that my previous owner left me i am now looking at a little customizing.

I really hate the dead wing window. it gets 120 degrees here even at night and stays that way for months. I am from southern california where i always have my windows down. the darn wing windows really cut down the air flow. So the big ???

Will 1997 doors fit 1996 chassis? if so what mods are necessary? I do not have my garage like i did back home nor do i have access to a better garage. to add to the problem. any of the "helpful" shops here do not have english speaking mechs and have no pride in their work.

I need to know if it is going to be worth my while to attempt this.
