1988 cheif runs hot
I have a 1988 jeep Cherokee she started running hot so I replaced these items water pump, fan clutch wired the e-fan to run all the time, replaced the radiator, the thermostat and housing, and the coolant reservoir ,we just did a compression test on it and 2 cylinder register 145,2 register @ 140 and 2 @ 120 wtf is my head gasket blown? Any ideas why she could be running hot still.....

Have to tried a manuel gauge? Could it be the factory gauge In the dash not reading correctly? Maybe someone else with more jeep knowledge will chime in, not sure on jeeps but I know on diesels we do a leak Down test with pressure gauge. Pressurize the cylinder and let it sit for a lil while and if the head gasket is blown the pressure will leak down instead of holding. Just a thought :/ hope something in this helps

Still got the original coolant bottle? If so, replace the cap with a 703-1396 from Napa.

Make sure there is no air pockets sorry to sound so dumb but it doesn't have a cap on the radiator I guess it's called a pressurized system it's all through the resivior isn't it? Or is my jeep rigged lol

If you really wanna bleed the system, do this:
Get it situated nose down. At the driver's side rear of the head is your temperature sending unit for the gauge. Unplug it. Using a 1/2" deep socket loosen that sender til coolant starts to come out with no air. Tighten it back in and plug it back in. Don't do it with the engine hot or you could get burned and be delicate with it. You don't wanna bust it off or something.
Me, I'd try the cap first.

Im suprised no one asked yet (i may have missed it tho) but is your oil looking bubbly and light in color? Sureshot way of telling if the head gasket is blown.
Is the heat working? Heater core may be all plugged up and wrecking coolant flow.
Just some ideas, im assumeing youve been thru all the normal bs (hoses leaking, air in system, belt slipping on water pump etc...).
