1987 Jeep xj on 37 can't stop good
I'm a low budget high school student. I have a 1987 jeep cherokee on 37" tires with an upgraded brake booster from a 2004 grand cherokee and stock rotors and pads. It will stop but but not real good it won't lock up the front tires in gravel. Any ideas will help

You can't just slap on huge tires and expect it to perform. The world of modding comes at a high price, because when you change something from stock configuration, you need to change several other things to compensate for that change.
Low budget and heavily modified don't mix.

You have 2 good options.
1. Upgrade you front brakes. You'll need different knuckles, rotors & calipers. It will cost you. $300 -$400.
2. Trade for 35s OR if you have stock gears, 33s. This should cost you nothing. In fact, you could make money on the right trade.

OK, first and foremost, PLEASE post a pic, I'm dying to see this thing.
And as stated above, best and cheapest move, post a Craigslist ad;
"WTT 37" tires for 33" tires"
I did that to go from 33s to 31s, other guy paid for the swap and threw a little cash on top.

Set up
It has a 6" long arm lift upgraded steering gearbox along with the bigger of the stock steering components, d30 front, d35 rear, and a 3.73 gear ratio. I really want to put EBC yellow stuff brake pads on it but thy don't make them for my year/engine size 4.0. People say the axels can't handle 37's but I don't really care I'm just going to run it till they break then upgrade to d44 or d60

Have you adjusted the rears up. And bleed system good ? Was the spring changed in proportion valve ? Im running 38s with 96 xj booster I stop great. Nothing going to stop on a dime once bigger tires are put in the equation .
