Hi All,
I'm new here and just purchased my first jeep. My first line of business was to get a new set of wheels/tires. I ordered some soft 8's in 15x7 5x4.5 lug pattern. When they arrived, I noticed they did not line up with the stock wheel hub, and would not fit.
Here are the specs of the wheel I ordered:
Brand:Cragar
Manufacturer's Part Number:3975712P
Part Type:Wheels
Product Line:Cragar Soft 8 Black Wheels
Summit Racing Part Number:CRR-3975712P
Wheel Diameter:15 in.
Wheel Width (in):7.000 in.
Wheel Material:Steel
Primary Wheel Color:Black
Wheel Finish:Gloss
Manufacturers Wheel Series:Cragar Soft 8 Series
Backspacing (in):4.250 in.
Offset:+6.00mm
Wheel Construction:2-piece
Beadlock Functional:No
Beadlock Included:No
Lug Nut Seat Style:Conical seat - 60 degree
Hub Centric:No
Center Cap Included:No
Valve Stems Included:No
Quantity:Sold individually.
Wheel Bolt Pattern:5 x 4 1/2 in.
Any idea why they aren't fitting? I though wheel bolt pattern was 5x 4.5 for XJ's.

Thanks for the quick replies.
Sorry for the noob question, but would the rim offset have anything to do with it fitting?
Since they sent me 5 lug wheels that don't fit...I'm guessing they probably sent me 5x5 lug patterns instead of 5x4.5, right?

First I would return them and buy the 15.8" all the 7" is a stock size rim and with 15x8"s you will have a better BS. I have that same wheel at least with the 8" wheels it gives you some options as soon as you upgrade tire size...and you will sooner than later lol.

Ideally, I'd like to get the biggest tire on stock springs without having any rubbing issues.
I've attached a picture showing how I measured the lug pattern on the rims I received (using the instructions below):
2. Use the distance between the center of one bolt hole to the center of the bolt hole adjacent to it:
If the distance is:
2-5/8" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2
2-3/4" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4
3" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 5
3-1/4" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2

Email them, and try to either keep that set and get a replacement set in 5x4.5, or at the very least a 5th for a spare

You ordered one thing they gave you another. Return them for the correct rims.
15"x7" with 4.25" backspacing is a good choice for 235/75R15s. You can fit larger tires on stock suspension if you want to trim some sheet metal. Friend of mine installed aftermarket fender flares (Bushwacker flat I think) an ran 31" tires without any lift. If you go that route 8" then an wide rim is better.
