Default 15in vs 17in rims.

Im planning on running 35x10.5 all terrain or mud terrains on my 1998 jeep cherokee.
My question is what are the pros vs. cons as to running the different sizes?
Seems like 35in tires in general are easier to come by for a 17inch rim...

I dont think they make a 35x10.50-17?

if you go into the 35x12.50-15 versus the 17, it's cost. the 17'S run around 100bucks more a tire. plus less side wall for deflection.

Depends on the use. Offroad you want more rubber, less rim. My dads CJ runs 35s on 15s and aired down it crawls anywhere.

If its more of an on road Jeep or dd/ww then 17s may be the way to go. They will handle better and probably balance better and reduce the risk of deathwobble.

The only 35x10.5 tire i can think of is the bogger.

Go 12.5" wide. Easier to get and they have more traction anyway- more rubber on the ground.

Wider isn't always better and it's less pounds per square inch on the tire that's in contact with the ground meaning it will spin easier

I see what you're saying. But 12.5 is a good all around use tire.

Go 15 inch rims you will be able to air down more and the tire will flex more plus they just look better

i air down to 7-8 psi all the time without beadlocks with 17" wheels. and i think 35s on 17s look way better than 35s on 15s personally.
