1/2 shackles?
Hey guys I purchased the shackles off of eBay, and the guy said they were 1/2 "inch to 1 inch they look a little bigger to me .is there a way anybody could tell by the picture? I'm installing 3" lifted springs and didn't want to go past 3 1/2" because I still need an SYE. Thanks for any help

Stock is 3 1/8" center to center. As an estimate, starting at 3 1/8" divide remaining length by half for lift height.

There's no way the springs are only going to give me a half-inch they just look big to me. How do I tell?
So the ones they sent are more likely 1" to 2"?
I don't know if you can tell from the picture.

Dumb question here about my lift I'll be installing tomorrow hopefully. Its a Zone 3" with full springs
For the back Q.
Do stock coil isolators give you any lift ?I'm only looking for 3.5" lift bc I can't do an SYE right now?
I wanted The drop shackles so I would have the option to raise it a little bit once the lift started settling.

4.5" lift. No spacers.
3.5" leaf springs plus Clayton lift shackles.

Isolater is about 5/8" thick, can stack two together for 5/8" lift.
I have read somewhere that from the factory, the XJ had a slight rake to it (higher in rear).

Think I'm going to have to send the springs back
Not liking the little dampeners in between each spring, UPS, must have broke the bottoms off in the process.
Those things will probably come right out after awhile..?
Do all lifted springs, have those dampeners?
My guess would be no.

The anti-friction pads are necessary. I would not worry about the ***** being slightly damaged. Pads should not pop out because of it. Pads usually last the life of springs.
A good leaf spring will always have anti-friction material, either pads or full length teflon strips.
Do not oil or grease them, I suggest graphite spray when needed which will not attract dirt/debris.

Anti friction pads, thanks I did not know that I won't worry about them then.
Waiting for the Iron rock shackles- to arrive today, I'm going to attempt to do the front...
Does it matter if i do the front first ? The instructions say otherwise easier the other way maybe?

You can do the front first, it is more involved however. Once it is lifted front and back, do a driveway alignment. http://go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoAlignment.htm
