Be careful when buying the fuel tank skid. I bought one from CL and turns out it was for an older XJ with a smaller gas tank. So it was not a direct drop in, I cut a bunch of it out and it works now. Just something to keep in mind.

Other then that it's my understanding all xjs skids can interchange. Only issue being that if you didn't have a hitch or fuel tank skid you'll need a nustrip, and if you didn't have a xfer case skid you'll likely need to install nutserts in the frame and cross member.

I'm probably a bit far from you but I have all three OEM skids I'd be willing to part with. They're off an older model; I think the front skid and t-case skid will fit all years and the gas tank skid should fit pre-'97 XJ's.

This is probably the same tank skid I was referring to. You'd still be able to use it, just needs some "modification" lol.

Here is what I did to make the smaller skid fit my 97.

After you put the hitch on you can't even see where it was cut, the hitch protects that area.

Interesting, for some reason I thought it was the older XJ's that had the bigger gas tank but those pics seems to indicate otherwise.

I've heard you can also install a ZJ gas tank skid, which is made from a little thicker metal, but apparently it won't fit whichever years of XJ's that have the larger tank.
