so i just put 35s on my xj, and when i had them balanced, the guy told me that one of my wheels was tweaked from the inside, so the wheel sits crooked on the hub. im getting massive death wobble, and would like to see if i could find another one like the ones i have. ill post a few pics.

put that wheel on your back passanger side for now.... it should help with the problem your having... but do find a wheel soon... they aren't that much new and 4 wheel parts has them in stock

RRDirtyHarry 11-24-2012 02:00 PM

i dont know why i didnt think of that. i dont really have that much money for a brand new one right now. was hoping to find one for like 25 bux. ill have more money in 2 weeks

NWhunter 11-24-2012 03:13 PM

find the bent one... Get a B.F.H and beat that thing straight... Or put it on the pack like the other guy said.

supermini99 11-24-2012 03:36 PM

Craigslist for days lol

RRDirtyHarry 11-24-2012 03:40 PM

yeah craigslist for sure......

and i triedto figure out how much it bnt so i could take a malet to it, but i dnt have any level ground to put it o lol. m driveway is horribly uneven, and the garage is full.so i just threw t onthe back.e shallsee how that works. if its still death wobble then idk what to do lol.

Why would you get a BFH that wouldnt fix anything....better to just buy another wheel

RRDirtyHarry 11-24-2012 03:59 PM

lol im trying to find one exactly the same. except i dont think ill find a red one. or a very cheap set of 4 wheels

supermini99 11-24-2012 04:12 PM

4wheel parts sells them and i think they have them in stock

NWhunter 11-24-2012 10:07 PM

Frank, supermini is right... if your bent wheel is on the back... There's something else causing Death Wobble dude.

NWhunter 11-24-2012 10:09 PM

btw... We gotta all meet up sometime... Who's house can we use down south were you guys are at?

RRDirtyHarry 11-24-2012 10:22 PM

It was on the front. Just moved it to the back today. About to drive and test it now.

RRDirtyHarry 11-24-2012 10:33 PM

Well so far so good. Got it up to 45 without any issues. Can feel the rear end wobble when taking a 90° turn. Ill test highway speed in a bit.

RRDirtyHarry 11-24-2012 11:13 PM

Well its a lot better. No more wobble.

mehoff_400 11-25-2012 12:58 AM

good to hear.... but find another wheel still

OleBlue 11-25-2012 02:32 AM

you can get a brand new steel wheel from summit racing, 52$ free shipping

odgreen 11-25-2012 02:51 PM

And you won't find another red d window. You will find a black one and a can of red paint.

RRDirtyHarry 11-25-2012 03:55 PM

yeah i know. i think the red matches pretty well. but ill have to spray them all to make sure they match

RRDirtyHarry 11-25-2012 03:56 PM

There are different names for each manufacturer when you call just ask for a "Black Steel wheel" tell them the size and backspacing... or go get a 4wheel magazine and their should be some wheels on some of the pages or even go online to get the exact name for the wheel your looking for

Those wheels are very common im almost certain if you just call 4 wheel parts in Tacoma they will have what your looking for

OleBlue 11-25-2012 11:04 PM

cragar d window

That's my post. Admittantly, I'm not 100% sure of they are 5x4.5 or 5x5. I've never mounted these on the xj. But they are in good shape (small surface rust) and look to have 3.5 back spacing. Possibly 4 but there are no markings.

This post makes me sound like a complete idiot about these wheels haha. I bout them for the tires they had mounted...

mehoff_400 12-04-2012 11:54 AM

off of a grand cherokee they are 5x4.5

je_cherosport 12-04-2012 12:06 PM

I'm not sure what they came off of. He said jeep but I don't know what kind of jeep.

je_cherosport 12-04-2012 12:09 PM

Crap! Copied and pasted wrong link!!!

Those are mine

RRDirtyHarry 12-04-2012 08:23 PM

theyre only 2....and see what the offset and everything else is and ill look at it. but i need to figure out what im gonna do. i have decide between new trac bar, a front hitch reciever with shackled hitch, or a wheel, or ding some tune up work

je_cherosport 12-04-2012 11:15 PM

Well you only need 1. Get two for the price of one. You know, for when you bend another :)

RRDirtyHarry 12-04-2012 11:20 PM

lol well if theyre different then i may want to put the 2 on either the front or back. but i got priorities right now lol. bigger than the wheel thats not a huge deal right now. just got done doing some wheeling, and got high centered on a log. but with no front tow spot, my buddy had to go around and drag me off from the rear.

Agreed

je_cherosport 12-05-2012 11:58 PM

The wheels are 5x4.5 pattern and 15x8. It's a pretty heavy back spacing also. 4"?
