Question oil leak

Good Morning all
I have a problem, my 2005 Grand Cherokee 3.0ltr CRD has a small oil leak which my garage, that is to say my old garage tried to rip me off by saying it was a tubo leak to the tune of 3000
I had a mate who owns a body repair shop to clean the engine off and leave the sump guard off for a couple of days so when I parked up I could put some cardboard under the engine area to try and locate the leak.
Well I got one tiny spot of oil, but even after my mate put a camera in and around the engine he could find no trace of a leak.
He did however find some oil on the cables at the bottom of the bell housing but could not find the source. Has anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to where the oil is coming from and how to fix it.
Cheers

I'm not 100% sure if the CRD Grand Cherokee's share the same transmission as the gas motor ones.

But if they do, and they're the same as your export model -

I'd first start with part of the wiring harness that routes into the transmission itself. It's a known leak. There is a rubber grommet where the wiring and wire loom enter the side of the transmission, lower down near the pan. That grommet will allow fluid to run down it, and collect at the lowest point, which isn't really near the transmission.

Outside of that, my knowledge of CRD Jeep WK's is pretty limited. Hope that at least helps.

Edit :

Completely unrelated - Half my family still lives in Coventry, haha.

Thumbs up

Hi all
Just to let you know a brilliant guy called Greg in Leicester UK solved the problem he is a Jeep nut (a nice one )he has a small garage called "4playJeep"
The problem was the plastic oil filter cap had either been over tightened or it had warped
So the tiny leak of oil came from the cap and then dripped onto the fan belts which in turn spread it all over the place
I am pleased to say that after being cleaned up you could eat your dinner off my engine its so so clean now
