nice to meet you ozcherokee
98 turbo diesel, that sounds awesome, lots of off road advertures?
I actually join this website to meet and chat with people who knows much more about this brand of cars than I do and get some tips on how to make my recent adquisition better.
I had read about the terrible milage output and I understand there are few things I could do to improve it, even if it just a little bit.
For example, I read somewhere that I should change the spark plugs and clean the engine air filter and also look for add a cleaner to petrol in order to smooth things up in the engine. What do you think about this? do you have any suggestions or opinions.. ?

Hello everyone, it's been a month since I bought my jeep and I'm still in love with it even after doing the Maths to find out the mileage use and here it is... A whooping 4.5 km per liter... How about that? Anyone can do worst?

Hi cbasaussie oompa here.
When I had my engine rebuild about 25k ago, did asked the question about gas but got a resounding "no" reason that the 4ltr valve seats don`t like it, something to think about or further to investigate.
fuel on mine is about 15 ltr 100k`s
Cheers Anton.

It has done over 100,000km on LPG no probs.
I did an engine reconditioning course at tafe a few years ago and was taught that engines designed to run on unleaded have harder valve seats. Unleaded engines are better suited to run LPG.
The downside to running LPG is that it is a drier fuel, it can make gaskets and seals hard/brittle (valve stem seals being the worst affected ).
I was told to prevent this by running 3 tanks of LPG to 1 tank of petrol.
OR
Buy an UPPER CYLINDER LUBRICANT INJECTOR kit. These cost between $40 and $100 plus around $20 per litre of lubricant (treats 1000 litres). Moreys brand is great.
I wish I had a more modern LPG kit with multi point injection ( greater efficiency but expensive )
Love my BB Jeep on gas, my last jeep used $110 + per week in fuel, this one around $60.
( if your wondering what BB is, it's the initials of my jeeps name {look at my previous posts for the full name, but be warned ,,, it's offensive })
