Default Zj stuck in part time 4x4 vibration over 70

I just bought a 98 grand Cherokee about 2 months ago with high Millage(235k) the 4x4 was out when I bought it so I swapped the T-case yesterday and everything works but she I put it in 2wd on the selector it still shows part time 4x4 on the dash and when I go over 70mph I get a vibration that seems to be coming from the case or the rear driveshaft dies anyone have an idea as to what it could be? Also it hard the 242 transfer case behind the 4.0 motor. I'm going to check the fluid level today again as well as the vacuum line. Any help would be great

there is a vacuum line on the top front of the transfer case and i had read somewhere at the is that line goes bad it can cause the case to not shift into 2wd properly. I'm also worried i may have the driveshaft out of balance due to the vibrations

Why are you going 70mph if the transfercase in stuck in part time 4wd?

First off, that's a transfer case vent line.

The vacuum shift front axles ended in 1991.

Adjust the transfer case linkage.

i jacked it up and let it free wheel and the dash is saying its in part time 4x4 but only the rear wheels are spinning so I'm pretty sure its in 2wd i tried adjusting the linkage but it didn't change anything. i took it out for a test drive and it still gets a vibration right @70 and the part time lights won't go off i topped off all the fluids and took the drive shafts off and put them back on to see if that was the issue but still no luck

Signal wire is grounded or the switch is messed up.
