WTH!!! Very Little Gain!
ok about 4 months ago i did the neon injector swap on my 98' 4.0l Limited XJ. soon after i reset the computer. ive been running like this since and ive noticed very little to no gian in my MPG's. did i do something wrong or is this upgrade a hit or miss?? advice please!!
PS. i used the exact neon injectors as mentioned in the thread floating around here on that topic.

I'm not sure why people expect a gain in fuel economy with an injector swap. Anyone that sees an improvement has drastically changed their driving style due to the new injectors or the previous injectors were not functioning correctly. The best way to change fuel economy in any vehicle is to put an egg on the dash and try to keep from breaking it.

i did this same swap about a month ago on my 97xj and noticed a good bit of difference in throttle response right off the bat and after 3 tanks of gas I'm getting about 2 mpg better, and i didn't change my diving habit at all.

hmm. i gained 1 or 2 miles per gallon with injector swap. i can't be completely positive on just the injectors though. because, i also put on an APN header, flowmaster super 40, and a "high flow" cat.

I gained 1-2 mpg after the swap depending on how I drive. The best average I've gotten was 19mpg, the lowest was 15mpg.

I did the ford 19lbs in my 89 and have not notice anything diff. It seems to be exactly as it was before. I am happy with it and know it is doing something with the 4 port over 1 port.

I've seen a couple miles per gallon improvement out of mine. I don't really think I've changed my driving style, though I am finding I just don't have to push the pedal as hard to get a response, maybe that's what's accounting for the mileage difference?
