As the title asks, I'm interested in the results and/or pitfalls. I am so done with plastic bottles!!

The upper hose is 1.25" inner diameter except where it bells out to 1.5" at the thermostat housing, , so I can choose which filler I want to use.

Clearance issues? Photos? I'm thinking a recovery bottle can go over where the crappy plastic bottle and it's mounting is now.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The only issue I can think of is making sure the hood will clear the inline filler assembly.

I'm sure it works. I'm just looking for any pitfalls.

I'm ready too do it.

Another writeup in the future?

I ordered 2 of the Moroso 63745 filler necks from amazon a minute ago.

I tried slipping an upper radiator hose on a 1.5" fitting and it just won't go. The selection of 1.25 inline filler necks sucks. Moroso or plastic. No plastic for me....and it stands taller than the Moroso.

I'm curious how these work out for you. I was planning on doing the whole radiator swap before winter sets in, but these would make my to-do list so much easier. According to the reviews, it sure looks like owners of old Jeeps are the primary purchasers.

For the overflow bottle, I was just going to man handle.... ummm... "creatively adapt" the current bracket to fit the newer style bottle, like from my 96, unless you've come across a version with a better size and shape to fit in the current location on the 90

we'll come up with something good. Part numbers and everything.

I've done it to both of my XJ's. I'll run out now and grab some pics of how I did it. I bought the filler from Summit racing, and just a bottle from Rockauto.com. Has never overheated since. I'm sure that saying that will jinx me, but I've been running it like this for years.

Thanks. I'll end up doing a write-up with part numbers etc. I've got 3 Jeeps to do.

Right next to the AC compressor is a great place for it because the bracket that holds the hose can now support the inline filler neck

The bottle didn't look that gigantic on the web, but whatever, it fits

The overflow tube is whatever sized heater hose I had laying around in a coil....it fit, it stays, it works, it's good.

There is PLENTY of hood clearance for the inline filler neck, and it is still at the highest point in the cooling system. The water bottle fits into the extremely big empty space where the old pressure bottle was. Just simply remove the tray/bracket with a 10lb sledge hammer, or socket set, your choice, but the sledge is quicker and more relieves sooo much more stress.

You can also see that I removed the Heater Control Bypass Valve .... it was leaking really bad. Cheapest place for the replacement hoses (3/4 and 5/8) are the Prestone hoses sold by O'Reilly's. Online I paid $20 including shipping for 2 6' hoses (one of each diameter). Only used half of each hose roll.

I'm late to the party, but a Dodge 4.7L filler neck from O'Reilly fit my rad hose perfectly.
It's plastic but it's holding up fine.
Converted the pressure bottle to an overflow, I also deleted the hcv but ended up grabbing a 94ish jy hcv and reused my vacuum line

Good luck. There's a reason the parts store stocks those necks..............

If the HCV from the 94 is plastic also, expect it to fail.

Yeah, they're both plastic.
They've been on for a year in Western Washington.
We have seasons, but not extreme by any means.
I'll probably pop for a metal filler eventually, hose setup is kinda hokey.
I deleted my ac and wanted to shorten the upper rad hose, used the Jeep rad end and part of a crown vic interceptor silicone(?) hose at the neck.

They'll both work fine for a time. When's that time? Where will you be?
