When is it time for a new jeep?
I've got a '95 stock XJ.. When is it time?
Album
Album
- Dealt w/ underbody rust all around using Rust Bullet, and 3M Rubber coating to cover up the Rust Bullet
- Maintained by my Dad who used it for a daily driver 100 miles/day years back
- Regular fluid changes
- Nothing is "wrong" as of now (i did see some smoke today after stopping at an intersection, after my 17 mile highway jaunt to work)
- 241K Miles
- Some front end damage
- Other trivial interior/exterior issues

Is it just a car to you or is it more? Is the work that's gone into it so far worth throwing away or not? Personally I'd keep it if the unibody and drivetrain are strong. You're at a point where a lot of dumb little stuff is going to start going wrong, but it's worth keeping to me.
It's still got a lot of life left in it but ultimately it's up to you whether it's worth keeping. Either you've got the Jeep thing or you don't.

I won't even ask how your brother hit it. But take it to a body shop, and see what they say. And was there an insurance claim on it? Post so pics of the damage.

No insurance claim, it was long ago when my Dad was using it, and since it was his son and the jeep was still fine to drive, we just lived with the smushed quarterpanel. You can kind of see it in the album i posted.

As far as i know, there is no frame damage. It's just the body that was hit on the right front, and on the front left, it's pushed out. If you look at the 3rd picture in the album, that's where it was hit. I try to post some better pictures.
