Contrary to what I have read... I handily beat out my buddy's 4wd 5-speed manual HO with about the same miles and this other 1995 HO automatic(though it was so close). Seems like 97-99 powertech are the fastest years, I beat another buddy's old 0331 head 2000 4wd xj auto too. I used 0-60 (and 1/4 mile) timer and have averaged 7.52 out of 23 consecutive runs.... with the low side being in 8.0-8.41 with wheelspin and high side being 7.09-7.37 when I hook up. I had no clue it was that quick, well I guess I have 200 hp(183 stock under new SAE guidelines; custom exhaust downpipe to tip, CAI; 235-245 lb ft, underrated from factory and dyno proven by JP Mag) and weigh 3200 lbs.... so that actually sounds about right. I powerbrake to 1600 rpm and she flies off the line, the XJ is the fastest iteration of the 4.0 so it represents the last of showing how much of a beast it can be around town. Used new SAE J1349 correction testing methods in every consecutive test. Yeah I would go offroading but it's 2wd and I don't want to ruin the perfect paint and last time I went mudding took me 3 hours to clean it off.... I can have fun without accelerating to dangerously fast speeds too, best of both worlds IMO. Surprised a few 5.3 Silverados, cocky Rodeo, mustang v6, accord, etc. owners. If I lose, it doesn't matter, because in the end I am still driving a Jeep and they aren't !

back in the day when i had an 2wd xj on the bottle, i used a G-tech timer....and although its been close to a decade ago, i think it was somewhere in the 4.7-5.1 range.

Yeah I beat a Silverado 4.8 with a 3500 stall with exhaust/cai... He was pissed, but he is a lot faster now. Also beat a Mustang V6 2004 and 3.8 Camaro V6.... Plus all the ricers that cruise nw 39th street. Car and driver got 8.4 out of a stock 3600 lb 4wd Cherokee fully loaded, I weigh 300 lbs less so that should account for at least .3 seconds and I have the aforementioned mods.

8-9 seconds is the norm(8.1-8.4 for 2wd, 8.3-8.6 for 4wd; all auto), with 2wd + bolt ons or with manual you can get into the 7's.... With nos(as shown above) you can get A LOT FASTER than that !

you didnt do anything in the 4, 5, or even 6 second range with the stuff you have mentioned. not even the stroker motors are running as fast as you claimed
