Default What is your ultimate XJ, MJ, GC?

Get as technical and or descriptive as you want.

Lets say you won some sort of contest... All you have to do is describe to a shop what your ultimate XJ, MJ or Grand Cherokee is and they would build it at no cost. Pick any year XJ, MJ, or GC. What would it be? What would it have? What would it be for?

Yes it can be your current vehicle. Yes you can keep your current vehicle.

Might it be....
ZJ drag racer with a jet engine from a helicopter?
Rock crawling WJ LCG with custom long arm suspension?
Street legal sleeper MJ pavement pounder with a 572 big block and powerglide?
Diesel powered XJ tow rig with a full frame and dually wheels?
WJ monster truck?
Something else?

  • Describe it to us and tell us what you would use it for.
  • Everything must exist! No made up unrealistic parts (although if it can be fabricated it is fair game).
  • No magic (i.e. indestructible, unrealistic fuel economy or unrealistic reliability).

I'll play...

A 1990 Commanche with diesel engine with a 5" lift and 33s. I'd use it for a play vehicle

93 grand cherokee with an srt8 with the hennesse package, 6" of lift with coilovers f&r, Kingpin ford HP Dana 60 trussed with RCV shafts and ARB 5.38 gears, 35 spline sterling 10.25 with Detroit 5.38 gears, 40" tires (not sure what kind yet) hybrid cage, suckdown winches, NP231/Dana300 doubler, oh ya and a SUNROOF! Man I wish my jeep had one...

I think this would about do it...

97 XJ Yellow
TD swap
Manual
231 with SYE, custom DS

2 Bumper lights, 4 up top front, 2 up top in back

Front axle:
D44 with 4.56 gears
Electronic locker
1 ton steering
Diff cover

Rear axle:
D44 with 4.56 gears
Electronic locker
Diff cover

Tires:
33 inch Cooper STT MT on black cragar soft 8's

JCR prerunner winch bumper, stage 3 sliders, rear bumper swing out tire carrier. Fully skid plated.

Doorless with tube doors, speakers in the kicker panels, my current sub/amp, aftermarket head unit, 12000 Lb WARN winch with wireless remote, all necessary recover gear.

RE 4.5 inch long arm lift, bilstien shocks, Shackle relocation and a .75 inch puck up front.

small lockable roof rack with high lift jack and shovel

Drivetrain:
Supercharged LS9
700R4 by monster transmission
atlas II transfer case
dual deep cycle batteries

Interior:
4 suspension seats with 5 point harnesses
full interior with complete DVD, satellite navigation and high quality sound system
On board air and 6,000W inverter 110V AC.
Custom hide away, lockable gun case underneath the rear seats.

It's purpose is a vehicle I could drive literally anywhere, anytime. Ultimate weekend wheeler and DD if I want.

mine would still be a renix xj with front and rear long arms, coil overs, oh rear would be a 4 link or maybe a 3 link, full exo cage, tube fenders, rock rails, warn winches front and rear, d231/300 twinstick doubler, full hydro steering on portal axles, 38 inch tires on beadlocks, oba, obw, 3000w inverter, espresso machine, laptop running garmin topo with trails and a cobra cb.

oh, and all this still has the renix 4.0L, aw4 tranny and no power windows or locks.
so, basically my jeep with a few upgrades. and it would still be blue, of course.

89 XJ, Cummins 4bt swap, exo cage, skids, bumpers, custom enlarged wheel wells, D60 front 10.25 rear, 38x15.5 swampers, 4ish" longarm lift, coil sprung rear, ARB lockers, atlas T case. Yup, that's about it.
