What are YOUR requirements for a FAVORITE vehicle?

Someone asked that question on another forum.. and this was MY response.

"My rules for "favorite car" are simple.

1) Is it four wheel drive? And able to clamber over highway curbs.. growl through flooded streets and through muddy fields to avoid yet another marching crowd of irritating, whiny protesters? (I live in Washington State..someone is protesting SOMETHING every other week.. it gets tedious.)

2) Can I sleep in the vehicle comfortably should the need arise?

3) When the zombie apocalypse hits. Am I going to be able to smash and growl my way through brain-hungry hords of the undead to relative safety?

My Jeep Cherokee is a big 'ol YES to all of the above requirements. So, yah.. Jeep Cherokee."

So.. what are YOUR requirements for a favorite vehicle?

I have owned many vehicles and haven't found one that is superior enough in all categories to be my favorite.

That is why I own three very different vehicles lol

I am with trailertrash on this one. No way I can have just 1 favorite vehicle. Never have, never will. You can never have too many vehicles!

yah... good point. I think for me, maybe a second favorite would be a 1968 VW Karmen Ghia. A curvy, sexy little thing I'd keep around just for the sheer pleasure of driving it.

Driving 60 mph in a Ghia FEELS like driving 160 in a high end sports car. heh.

Sure, I'd like to have both. But if it comes down to it.. the XJ, hands down.

I had a Ghia for awhile when I lived in Grand Junction CO. LOVED blasting that thing around up on the Mesa and Nat Monument roads.

My requirements are close to Martlor's.

1. fun to drive
2. easy to repair and maintain

All four of my vehicles meet #1, three of them meet #2. They serve different purposes that can't all be met by any one vehicle.

If I were forced to keep only one of my vehicles it would be the XJ because it meets the two requirements and comes closest to serving all my purposes. So, I guess in a sense you could call it my "favorite".
