Question What you keep in your jeep

So here's the question: What do you keep in your jeep? chains, straps, gas cans, tools, fluids, anything and everything that stays with your rig everywhere it goes. Im sure not everyone carries the exact same stuff and who knows you might get an idea and give one to someone else, especially someone new to the jeep world kind of like myself.

I just built a storage box/organizer that replaces my rear seat with a lid that finishes flush with the cargo area.

I haven't 100% percent finalized what will end up in there. But for now it has basic hand tools, masterflow high volume compressor, jumper cables, 30' strap and shackles, tire iron, pry bar, patch and plug kit, fixed blade knife, bottle jack, tire pressure gauge, fuses, some fishing gear and some other odds and ends.

I'm also building a Hybrid rack that will hold my full size spare, high lift jack, axe and shovel.

I keep racheting tie downs, a 20 foot chain, a recovery strap, and tools in 2 ammo cans that fit perfect in a milk crate that I keep in the back. I also keep a maglite, spotlight, axe, and hammer in the milk crate

Yes it does slide but I put a bungee cord around my spare tire bracket and one side of the crate and it doesn't slide anymore. Makes it nice Cuz I can remove the whole crate when I need to

I carry ridiculous amounts of stuff but it is mostly stowed away in rear cargo box and under rear seat. Purpose is to be on the beach all day and explore the area. Need to be self-sufficient.

On roof
4 gallon shower,
mud ramps,
hi-lift base
sun-shade poles, also good for probing depth of water holes.
fishing poles.
Hi-lift bar.

Rear seat,
chain
2 straps
Hi-lift mechanism and foot
wheel-lift attachment
Tire repair kit
stock jack

Front Seats
Rope 60' of 3/4"
Cordage
Rain/storm jacket
IR temperature gun
Reading material

False cargo floor
Tool set.
2 burner stove and pan
tarp/sunshade
sand spikes
tackle box
table top

And a bunch of other crap strapped, stuffed and attached.

My backpacking pack is always in there and contains: Tent, sleeping bag/pad, water purifier pump, wet-weather gear, backpacking stove/fuel, fire starter, GPS, fishing supplies, few days of freeze-dried food, first aid kit, flashlight, flare, machete, and alot of paracord.

My subwoofer-box has a few shelves in it and I keep my air compressor/bleeders, tow strap, jumper cables, winch controller, bungee cords, spare fuses/relays, and a blanket in there. Also have some welding rod in there... while I haven't had to use it yet, Ive watched a guy weld a broken tie-rod with jumper-cables/his battery on the trail so I pack it along just in case.

opposite side of my pack has a "seat organizer" that I attached to the wall instead. It holds a collapsible shovel, duct tape, hatchet, a battery "jump up", another flashlight, oil, break fluid, tranny fluid, WD-40, spare serpentine belt, spare bulbs, misc. tools, toilet paper, and bug spray.

I also have a 300 piece mechanics tool set and my winch in a basket laying in the back. Sometimes I have a spare set of axle shafts depending on what kind of trail I'm going on.

Under my rear seat I have the stock jack and usually an AR-7.

I also have a pack with some extra clothes/supplies/food for my toddler daughter floating around.

First aid kit and fire extinguisher is all you need in a daily driver. If you live in a place that gets snow add a change of warm clothes some blankets power bars and maybe a half jug of water.

My rig is a daily driver, that is why I carry all the stuff along with self-recovery equipment. But where I live is an exception. Hundreds of folks have lost their daily drivers here. Just last week, 18 vehicles were totaled due to ignorance/flooding (salt-water). Even the military deuce +1/2 gets stuck.

Forgot to add to my list, coffee and fresh water. Can have a fresh cup wherever I go (unless it's blowing a gale).

I would disagree with you. Unless you have copious amounts of cash to throw at tow-trucks or never go further than a mile from you house, tools of some kind should be carried.

I don't know how many people ive winched/tugged out of the snow who slid off main roads.

There are roads here that if something happens to you, it can be along time till anyone comes around. I personally would rather be safe then sorry. I guess it might be different If you live in a heavily populated area.

It also sucks packing/unloading after every trip and forgetting/loosing things in the process. I go do something in the mountains almost every weekend of the summer and so for me its just easier to keep it all in there. My groceries fit on the back seat anyways.
