The mechanic thing wasnt that big an issue to me but it was just really a "are you serious" thing in my mind that he wants to sell something but is making no time to do so at all, nor really even try to communicate with me.

I understand what you guys are saying about it not being 100% but still.... Maybe it's just the salesman in me.

visually check and put your hand on the steering components and check them. i'd also look for rust issues and possible cracks in the frame. look for dry rotted hoses and leaks in the engine compartment. leaks around valve cover or any gaskets. including diffs. visually inspect rotors for gouges or fins lol.

sry im a stickler when it comes to buying a vehicle. people hate me for that. lol. i'll spend 15 mins underneath one. the guy i bought my xj from had a book of every recite and oil change and anything he did to the xj wrote down and dated and the mileage wrote down beside it. sold me on it. i continued the book. had to get a new one though.
