What roof basket should I get? (Cheap)

I'm trying to find a roof basket for my upcoming build in about a week.
I'm looking to spend the least I can, but yet get a decent basket that looks cool.
I'm not planning on carrying anything big, just maybe my spare.
I'm highly considering the Rola, but was wondering if there are any comparable for the price?
Thanks everyone, can't wait to hear your input! Pic's would be cool too!

P.S. Unless it mounts to the gutter, I need to add gutter mount crossbars to the price list. I broke one of my stock crossbars :furious:

I would say check out rage racks but they discontinued the large one that looked the best on xj's.

The racks on this site seem to be the cheapest.

Hey thanks!
Yeah, I've looked there. none of them appeal to me that much.
By the way, I'm putting on the same lift you have, the RE 3.5", how do you like it?
I'm getting the full pack flex version.

I have had it on for about a year and a half now and I love it. It is the superflex version and the flex is great for a short arm kit. It currently sits at 4.5" front and 5" rear.

Wow, that's great! I can't wait to put mine on.
What roof rack do you have on yours?

I havn't heard anything about it but Nates4x4 makes some pretty beefy bumpers so I'm sure there baskets are worth the cost.

Yeah, he just started making them, there brand new.
Its a super beefy 72" basket that covers the entire roof of the XJ.
You can also take a piece out to make it a standard 48" basket.
It also gutter mounts which is a plus, for $315.99 with free shipping I think it's worth it.
He even adds the option to add a tire mount, hi-lift jack mount and front or rear light tabs for extra.

Well if thats in your budget I say go for it. Hopefully some others will chime in with some other options as well.

I'm trying to save wherever I can, but I have a pretty decent budget so I think I'll go with this.
I'm starting my build next week, I can't wait! I've got just about everything planned out.

Just wondering a couple things, what shocks did you go with? and how long did it take to put your lift on?
Thanks! :D

I went with some cheap skyjacker hydro's. It rides a little worse than stock but I wasn't going for a super nice ride or anything. And it took me about 8 hours to put the lift on. If you haven't ever put one on before expect it to take much longer than that, probably a whole weekend. The best advice I can give you is spray every bolt that you will be removing every night, with pb blaster, a week in advance. Also air tools really help. I lucked out when I did mine and didn't break any of the rear shock bolts, which usually always break.

Oh awesome, those are exactly what I'm getting, some Hydro 7000's.
And I'm going with 31/10.50x15 tires, so our builds are going to be pretty similar.

Yeah, I planned on spending about a weekend on it, luckily I have a dad who is a mechanic and has done a few lifts.
Without him I'd be screwed! I've heard those bolts can be a ***** to get off! Thanks for the advise, I'll do the spraying like you said.
So mostly its the shock bolts that break?
