Default What is my XJs Value?

I need some advice on my XJs value. It was my father's and now we're trying to sell it locally. It is a 1996 Cherokee SE with 151,xxx miles. AX-15 manual trans and Chrysler 8.25 rear end. It has been adult owned and kept stock. Though it is 4wd, I doubt my dad ever put it in 4wd except for the occasional snowy road. I am nearly positive he never put it in 4 low. It has never been taken off road and runs and shifts remarkably well. There is some peeling pain on the hood but is otherwise a really clean Jeep both inside and out. I'm going to sell it but don't know what I can expect to get for it. In my region (Wyoming), these sell from $2500-$4000 it seems.

At this point, I am not posting it for sale on this thread. I am simply asking the forum what a good sale price range is or what I should expect to get for it.

Thanks,
s

Looks to be very clean, what it blue books for and what its actually "worth" are going to be two different figures.

Id start on the higher end of what they sell for in your area due to being in good shape, relatively low mileage and that way you'll have some bargaining room.

All depends on how much of a hurry youre in to sell it, theres guys out there that will pay good money for a clean, stock cherokee.

Original post updated to correct this oversight of mine. Good catch!

Hit up Edmunds.com at the waaay bottom is the "Appraise My Car" link. I use that as it shows what vehicles are actually selling for in your zip code. Basing a price off of unsold items online usually wont work..

I'll throw a number at you, based solely on what I would pay. It looks clean, low miles (for an XJ). I'd pay $2000-2500 if I was looking for one.

Start @ $4k and go down from there if necessary. The only thing that will hurt the value is the fact it's an "SE". While power nothing may be "better" in some aspects as far as reliability it's kind of a loser by 2017 power everything standards.

Detail it to 100% it can be.. I mean door jams.. gas door.. any stains.. tires.. rims make them shine.. and make sure 0 brake dust .. pressure wash all dirt under it off.. clean and detail engine.. but do not paint or spray clear on anything..just wipe down.. take very very detailed pictures .. get any receipts of work.. oil changes.. then list it in the morning like 7 am start at $3,900.. if you get more then 1 phone call that day.. stick to the price..for a few weeks if you can.. you will get damn near it..

That color is not my favorite( no offense) but with the exception of just having dummy lights on the cluster I think it looks like a great Jeep. Most people ask stupid prices for XJ in the STL area. I would give you $3000 if it has little to no rust and I was close. That being said manual locks window and tranny in a clean Jeep appeal to me. You might want to try Ebay they are selling for crazy money on there a lot.

$125 for a car/truck. A reserve will cost you $15 so probably 20-25 to list but a no reserve clean vehicle usually sells for good $

It seems some people these days want a ton of money for their stock to slightly modified xj. I don't understand it
