I paid $1500 for my '93 Country XJ. It gets better mileage than a $70k Land Rover Discovery. It has more ground clearance than a $70k BMW X5. And it weighs less than a $90k Porsche Cayenne (which is significant, because Porsche charges more for each of their cars as you strip them down to lighter weights). I can take it offroad without worrying about $$thousands in repair bills. I can drive it to the grocery store without worrying about someone's rugrat bashing it with a shopping cart. I can park it downtown without worrying it won't be there when I come back. And when I wear a suit to work, I look like an affluent adventurer (which I am) instead of a pretentious ****. Oh, and FTW, I can easily maneuver my XJ into a "compact only" parking spot with room to spare. Try that with an H2.

Best thing about Fencerow was that she was FREE... she had been parked in a fencerow for 5 years and was nasty... the guy gave it to us to take it off his hands.

Good thing she was free cause she cost a lot to get the motor running and the brakes fixed (the reason the guy parked it) and then the lift, tires etc.... but it's all been worth it and I love her! She gets me to work and gives us a great time wheelin' in the woods.

Did about an hour of sanding, and about an hour removing everything I could on the exterior and taping off all the rubber and glass. Spent about 2 hours painting, and it has held up for 2 years with no repaints yet! For anyone considering doing this, you should really sand more than I did.

I was rear wheeling it in about 1.5-2 feet of snow on a back country road when my dads F150 needed to be in 4wheel drive.

It takes me pretty much any where o want to go, I went thru a mud bog that was half way up the doors and I made it thru with pretty much bald tires, not to mention the 4.0 its bullet proof I love it!
