What do you do, when your jeep is in the shop?
My jeep is in the shop getting a replacement engine, and some other work done. Just sitting twiddling my thumbs waiting for it to get back. I do about 90% of the work myself, but the deal on this rebuilt engine was just too good to pass up. but letting somebody else touch it is... nerve wracking.

Mine never sees the shop. I work on it myself. If I can't do something, I ask for my dads help. Shops are just too pricey and I don't trust them to not over charge me

haha, They are closed by the time I get off work, so I have to wait to see it until its done.
If you are willing to drive to AZ, I'm willing to turn some wrenches. |
You could have driven the 2 hours to me. I would have helped you out

I do all the other stuff I was SUPPOSED to be doing instead of working on the heap. It makes my wife VERY happy, as long as she never sees the shop invoice.
I rarely put it in the shop, only for things that I don't have the tools for and shelling out for them would cost almost as much as having the shop do it, or for things I have tried and completely mucked up (witness my latest regear - I didn't seat the rear pinion race evenly, unbeknownst to me (it LOOKED perfect!), which gave me a different backlash reading every single time. After a month of tinkering with NO results, it became money well spent to have a gear shop do it correctly). |
