what to do with this

so i know that most of you have rust in this spot it is my rear driver side part of the body it was just bubbling a month a go and i had to put my hands on it and put my finger through it
well now it went for a nickel size hole to a half dollar and it is speading very fast. so my question is can i cut this out a weld up a new piece there? i am not a really a body guy but know of a few and havent got around to talk to them about this but want your guys answers and no answers just leave it bc i am serious this is the only spot on my jeep that is rusty (besides my lift i got a rustys 6.5 lol) so give me your answers to this

Cut out the rockers and replace it with steel square tube. Like rock sliders. And you don't really eat smelt do ya? It's like eating bait fish, Or minnows.

yes i do eat smelt i and i am one of about 3 men that are left to fish the waters in chicago regulatory in april
