so what's the 411? What is with their seemingly unnatural love of flatbeds? lol. I mean once in a while it happens..but ...hmm.

As for the Porsche.. grab a coffee and have a read. Everything that can go wrong, has. But it always comes back better and faster.

Ha well the jeep has had two or three trips for various reasons. Rear brakes decided to puke fluid all over themselves, fan froze and another time the hood wouldn't latch. My brother is a mechanic so I just ship it off to his place.

My dad had a vintage 916. Hard to come by.. but he was stationed in Germany in the Airforce back in the day.... it was actually quite reliable.
This was the model I actually rebuilt the motor in back when I was in high school. (I've been wrenching with him since I was old enough to hold one)
Found these pics... exactly the same as his, but his was the factory original dark forest green. It had the same flat 6 as the 911's of that time. So a ton of power in something the size and weight of a roller skate. He let me drive it some, and damn that thing was fast. For those that don't know, the 916 was designed for being a track car, but fitted a few of them for sale to use on standard roads. The more mass produced model that some may still recognize was the 914. NOT nearly as fast as his was.

hey thanks. she's tucked away for winter too. it got knocked over late summer and instead of fixing it properly I rode it into the ground. needs a lot of work this winter.
916 huh.. those are crazy rare. I was under the impression they built like 15 of them. plenty of 914-6 running around, but a 916?? wow.
is that a "welcome to the Jeep life" part? lol.

Even the 914-6's in good shape are moving up there in price now.
If you think that's rare.. I've got one better for you. It never went into production, but as a proof of concept, sitting in the Porsche museum in Stuttgart, Germany.... there are the only two ever built... a 914-8. That's right... a 914 with a flat 8 cylinder motor in it.
And remember, the 914 was the size of a shoebox.... and weighed close to nothing.

yeah... they are pretty rare. He was in the service back in the late '60s early 70s in Germany and nabbed one. He had it for almost 30 years. Yeah.. he always got a lot of looks when it came out of the garage. He bought it from a local doctor there.

Going back on topic for a minute, I guess I am a practical minded person and have never named a Car. In my mind they are a tool to be cared for and maintained properly, but it would be like naming a shovel or a hammer. lol

And back on topic.... I haven't named mine either... I mean what's a good name for a vehicle that's just about as aerodynamic as a 2 story house? lol

Sie fertig waren beide in dem, was als Signal orange bekannt ist (they were both finished in what is known as Signal Orange.)
Ich bin eine Deutschelander. .... my whole family is German.
