Buttoned things up and got it on the ground, I tack welded the upper shock bolts in and installed the shocks , I had do do surgery on the frame where the capture nut fell off the front leaf eyelet in the frame , if you have to do that make sure you go from the bottom thru the double reinforced part it's the only way to get to it, I cut a hole cleaned the nut with a grinder taped the nut to a wrench added anti seize and cinched it down tight then tack welded the nut to the frame , I still have to weld the hole but I need to weld a piece of pipe on the exhaust (which I don't have yet) The rest of my front end parts should be here Thursday I should have taken off the old track bar today but my back still hurts and I have nothing but time. Then it is on to new meats I'm looking at some Patagonia's and probably lockers. ONWARD

Found what gearing I have....
Was looking for what gearing I have in my 01 XJ. VIN lists 3.07. Today I found the original sticker still attached to the rear axle lists 3.55. Not a big deal but glad it's a 3.55 and not a 3.07.

Unless your rig is a factory stick shift, it didn't have 3.07 gears from the factory.

Started to make filler panels for the cage . Making them out of aluminum so they weigh nothing and removable so they can be taken out to make repairs on the cage easier .

New spark plugs and wires (took care of the misfiring piston check engine light), new Moog track bar (real sketchy driving in the city), right wheel bearing. Checked leaf spring bolts, still tight. Buddy fixed mystery squeak by manipulating the transmsison dipstick tube which was rubbing on the firewall.
