replaced torque converter. What a nightmare. But now it shifts better and stays locked up on the highway. The old one was overheated to the point it had turned blue.

Well, after a lot of thought, I've decided to put her up for sale. Now that she's no longer pulling full time DD duty, I've been trying to decide what to do with her.

Obvious answer, more extreme. More lift, more tire, etc. Thing is, I've worked my *** off getting her set up like this. If I'm going to do a more dedicated 80% trail runner, why trash a perfectly nice driver to do it?

And then there's my kids. They're at that age now, chomping at the bit for a jeep. Lol, I'm not handing the Badger over to teenagers.

So I figure sell her, take that money and pick up two stock 92-96 XJs. One for them to learn on, and one for me to start from scratch with.

I'll miss my Badger, but it'll just go on my growing pile of regrettable life decisions.

Welded up IRO C gussets on one side, cut and folded the passenger quarter panel. I'm a bit one sided today.

Well.... today (yesterday for those of you who haven't been up for 22 hours) I replaced some broken junk...

This turn signal lens....

...and this turd...

...in favor of a 29 spline Chrysler 8.25 with Trac-Lok and KJ disc brake conversion.

That replaces the last remaining piece of my original drivetrain lol

Went through the same feeling this spring when the time came to sell mine. But with a new pickup in the driveway, tough decisions had to be made. Kind of the same situation. Could have made a nice off roader with the right mods, but it was in too nice of shape. I couldn't justify keeping it otherwise, since the pickup replaced it in the roll of tower/hauler/bad weather vehicle. Still wish I had it though.

When you say Trac-Lok is that the Factory Limited Slip? If so I want that with the disc brake swap. Always hoping some day I will find an 8.25 3.55 rear with the Factory Limited Slip. Do the disc brake conversion and change over from a Command Trac to a Select A Trac. Figure one of the reasons I own a Jeep is to be able to get around when it snows and always figured that set up would make it a little better.

This raises a question with mine that has recently confused me. Mine has a Corporate 8.25 that spins like an open when it losses traction. But recently I noticed that when I am turning tight on dirt it is skipping in the back just like a posi does. Could it be that it is indeed a factory limited slip but the clutches are worn?

I know what a limited slip feels like in tight turns and this diff is acting this way. But like I say, When I hang one side it does freewheel like an open. It has me confused and wanted to find out if anyone else has experienced this before? Trying not to pull the cover just to find out if this is even possible.

Not that it's always accurate of course, but is there an ID tag on the axle?

That's the problem... Someone pulled any tags that were there and tossed them at some point before I got it. But I noticed it is starting to get a bit of a clunk when the oil is real hot from a long drive on a hot day, so I guess I should go and reset the lash and service it when I get a chance, I can tell for sure then when I pull the cover. I was just curious if someone had experienced this before, I am hoping this might be the case!

Pull be cover and see what's inside. Probably wouldn't hurt to have new fluid in it anyway
