What did you do to your Cherokee today?
Nice!
Did you buy those pre-assembled, as a kit, or build 'em yourself?
I have aftermarket Mopar running boards and the driver's side sub-frame is rotted out along the inside-facing edge. I hoping to remove the offending unit, cut off the support brackets and have them welded to a new piece of square tubing, then re-install and re-attach everything - I think
. I like the dressy look of my running boards, but if my idea doesn't work out, those sliders you put on are giving me alternative ideas.
Are you planing to Rhinoline or paint or powdercoat them???

I took my rack off the top and repainted it. All I have left to do is put on the new front and rear bumper(with tire swing), disco's, and skids.
I traced down my oil leak to the rear seal, and in the process of cleaning off the engine, the leak mostly stopped. My guess is that so much oil was trapped higher up in the engine from the valve cover leak I fixed last week, that most of the oil was "legacy" oil, that the rear seal isn't worth fixing, yet.
I also broke down and rattle-canned my wheels grey. The paint was flaking off them something fierce, so I powerwashed them, taped them off and made them all one color, for once.
Also started diggin rust out of the leftside rocker panel. Doesn't look as bad as it did at first.

Got the title transferred, registered, and plates.
Did some exploratory surgery on the ignition system, and discovered some scary-fragile spark plug wires. Had to splice one back together after cutting about half an inch off the end, works fine now, guess I'm lucky. Cleaned all the deposits off the plugs and regapped them (way out of spec), those need to be replaced too. Checked the distributor and rotor, also now on the list of "crap I need to buy".
I did buy a valve cover gasket, though. That goes on tomorrow.
Then, since I was bored, I went through every receipt that came with it and put them all into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Oye, I was REALLY bored.

My son was disturbed that his rear windshield washer tube was broken where it comes out of the rear gate. After i explained to him that it was not something that you could use as a tailgaiter deterent on the highway (although it would be fun to use it that way from time to time except for the fact that you would p*** off the wrong folks at times)
we made the trip to AZ to find a replacement. No luck, could be ordered. Returned home and realized i had some clear 3/32 in. fuel line tubing for a gas trimmer laying around unloved, so we ran it for a replacement, and once again my son can wash his rear window with a smile. Nothing like a lil quality time with your kids.

Yesterday I replaced the radiator, all hoses, serp belt. Also cleaned up the battery and removed some sort of theft/alarm system the previous owner put on that didn't work.
Next Trans Cooling lines and a tune up!!

Got a bunch done, between working on the house and the Jeep. Cleaned up all the electrical connections and tack-welded a plate over a hole in my quarter panel. Kept blowing holes through the light metal on the Jeep, so called it good and will get back at it when I have a clearer head.
