New front speaker wires and 4 new Kicker ES525 speakers. Very happy with sound, nice having 4 speakers again.

Junk yard run this morning and got a set of rear seat belts since mine are jammed up or rusted. Also found a factory plate relocation bracket for the swing away. Got home swapped belts then yanked the tire carrier and bumper so it can get coated Monday.

I have same bumper, it didn't come with any hex bolts. My back one did.

Was out house hunting. Weather was finally nice, so since houses out here suck and my morale was kicked to $hit, I went home and pulled the plastic trim off the sides of my XJ. Was getting ready to start buffing off the adhesive when a thunderstorm rolled in outta nowhere.

Fast forward 20 minutes...My buddy calls and asks me to bring my gf (and my TJ) over to talk to him and his wife. End result, handshake deal on an AMAZING price on a brand-newish 2008, 3bdrm, 3ba, and most importantly a 2 car garage with workshop! My Jeeps finally have a place for me to work on them!!!! (He wanted to make sure my TJ fit under the garage door)

They knew we were getting custody of my 8yr old daughter next month (currently in TX) and have a baby girl due in July and seriously needed out of our 1bdrm. So now the kids will have rooms too.

Is it bad that I was more concerned with the Jeeps having their own room?

Thanks for the info, but she's going to the mechanic tomorrow for an inspection (need one by Fri) and I'll have him take a look. Been our mechanic for awhile, so I trust him, and with the amount we take my mom's XK there (Commanders are piles of s***) he gives us a good price...

Took the old valve cover from the xj and put it on the silver xj and finished up putting parts on it. (Spark plugs, coil packs, fan and shroud, water pump, all hoses, AC compressor, power steering bracket and pump, and the air filter box.
All left to do is to fill up with fluids, get a battery, and put the belt back on.

How difficult was it to paint the valve cover? I think mine would look good blue...

Pick & pull this morning then harbor freight for new fog lights & tools (& rags) then relocated the Tranny cooler (see my last post) & installed all the stuff I pulled this morning. Front bumper back on & fog lights worked on the factory circuit, no leaks on the tranny cooler lines so life is good! Next week front brakes, bearings & bushings, u-joints etc. Oh & the horn decided to work.

Well, basically you clean it, scuff it up, clean it again, and then paint it...

You don't want to do it installed.

Started my hack n tap install today. Didn't mostly prep work. Removed driveshaft, removed TC drop, filled TC with some fluid and measured about 4 times where i wanted to cut.

Tomorrow Will be the cut, drill, tap, install and test drive. After that Will be the cigar to celebrate. But tonight, some drinking to relax.

indeed. Don't paint while the valve cover is still on the jeep lol.

I cleaned all oil and grime off, scuffed with 240 grit sandpaper, then cleaned with acetone. 10 minutes later I painted with engine primer and allow it to dry 30 mins then lay down the color of your choice and wait 1 hour between coats. I put on three coats of yellow
