Replaced the very sorry state of the original suspension on her. As in barely had an inch and a half from top of my 235 to the edge of the stock flare in the back....Front springs were good, just all the shocks were original to the jeep and completely shot.
So since this is my DD right now, I wanted to only go with a mild lift and not have to replace boatloads of parts to bring it all together.
Replaced the rear leaves with new heavy duty Crown ones, new longer shocks, shackle relocation brackets and adjustable shackles, and a leveling kit up front on the stock springs (since they were in good shape).
2.5" all around had a much more dramatic effect on mine I think because the old original suspension was so completely shot that it actually lifted the rear about 4 inches and the front a little over 2 full inches. So while not a huge lift by any means, I think it gives her a nice stance with a good amount of travel for what types of trails I take her on now....and actually handles a lot better without an almost fully collapsed suspension.

Drove all over Central Florida to get them, but I finally got my Hankook Dynapro 30's mounted and balanced. They are quiet, handle well, and look good. This is my first Hankook purchase. We'll see how they do going forward...

That is pretty cool. You are missing one tab on the lower right for where the shrouds mount into the lower radiator support though.
So today I am dealing with prepping and POR 15'ing a factory rear tow hook for the passenger side of the '00.
Jeep appears to only have made one for the driver's side. I put one on awhile back.
I was able to source another one and got it in my head to make it so I can use it on the passenger side.
Thing is that despite that the mounting points for it exist on the passenger side you can't put it there.
So I had my friend separate the vertical part from the horizontal part with his plasma cutter.
He was all happy cause he just got it and wanted to play with it.
Then had him reweld it so it could be used on the passenger side.
The first shot is one I grabbed off the internet of a factory one.
Second shot is where he separated the bracket.
Third is it just bolted up together cause I wanted to mock it up to make sure it would work.
Fourth shot is it all welded up. You can see how the horizontal pieces are on different sides in this and the first shot
Fifth shot is the eyelet that is part of the set up that I was able to source.
Thing is while it fits in there the access to the eyelet is slim cause of the gas tank skid.
The gas tank skid has a cut on the driver's side that lets you get to it. Passenger side of it does not.
Now I debate the actual use of these things. Thinking not really a usable recovery point. But I am just going for a look so......
At some point I might take the gas tank skid off and do a cut out like on the driver's side so it can be accessed.
Will see how I feel.
Of course will post pictures when I do get it on the Jeep.
I know there are some of you who have felt the pain I just went through...
Now to clean it up, spray some cosmoline to protect it and start to put the new leafs in. Then, hope to God the passenger side and the shocks go a bit smoother.
Replaced a few things on the 2001 Sport this weekend. Two were planned and one was unexpected. Replaced the tail pipe, the driver's door door check and the combination flasher and connector. Finally got tired of the door popping every time I opened it so I replaced the door check with one from Crown. I changed out the bracket on the door frame about a year ago. The tail pipe rusted out where the support is welded on just after the muffler and was banging against the bottom of the jeep after every little bump. It lasted about 2 and a half years which doesn't sound like a long time. It was a Walker pipe and I replaced it with a the same. Coming home from work on Friday, my turn signals started to act up. They would blink for a second or two then stop. I picked up a Novita branded relay and replaced that as well.

Just got off a 3 year run on my Hankook Dynapro ATMs (30s as well). They were an all around excellent tire. After 3 years of 80 miles/day they looked about as good as the day I put them on.
They performed on ice, snow, and loose dirt (and some mud) way better than their less-aggressive looks would have you believe.
However, around the 25k mark their compound started to harden quite a bit. Especially noticeable in cold temperatures (freezing) This led to a fairly quick and substantial increase in road noise. And a relatively sudden decrease in ice/wet traction performance.
I would still recommend that tire to anyone. And perhaps in a warmer climate like yours they will perform better over a longer period of time. For performance vs. price they are still hard too beat.
I got 3 good years out of mine, with significant mileage. So no regrets!
Pulled all the old carpet out of my 91. Exposed a bunch of moisture and a few very small floor pan holes that need fixing. Cleaned up a bunch of mounting hardware in prep for new HD rear leaf springs coming in this week. Replaced all of the rear drum hardware that was rusted out.
