Wow. $1.85. As low as $2.13 to $2.70 here. I use gasbuddy.com to see what the prices are in CT.

I saw $1.95 in Central Florida yesterday, but was immediately suspicious of the gas and I went down the street for better quality @ $2.05. Can't just be putting garbage in my baby, can we? LOL

Way back when if you went to a Sunoco station you got Sunoco gas. Mobil was Mobile. Etc. Sunoco was always my gas of choice back in the day. Nowadays and for quite some time I believe gas stations, no matter what chain, are selling whatever. May be different in other areas but in my area I can't remember the last time I saw a Sunoco, Mobile, Shell, etc tanker. Now just privately owned ones. Used to see them all over all the time way back when. The only gas I will not use is Gulf. Bad experience in a Ford I used to own when I used some one time. Blamed it on the gas. And even that is stupid because willing to bet it was not "Gulf" gas. Maybe something with the tanks at that particular station. If the problem was even the "Gulf" gas in the Ford.

I remember one year I think 2005 or so, there was a hurricane or something which caused all the gas in the SE US to be bad, most especially from Hess stations. It dicked up 2 of my O2 sensors on the Chevy Malibu I was driving then. Since that day, I have never bought gas at a Hess station again.

Wow you east coast guys are lucky. I filled up yesterday at one of the cheaper stations around and only paid $3.69.... E85 is still up in the high $2 range too.

Down here, you're right. Sometimes the worst gas comes from the smaller, run down stations. They don't have the newer holding tanks, vents or separators, making it easier to get "trash" in theirs and your tanks.

Went to the junkyard and got some parts What did you do to your Cherokee today?-photo85.jpg every single part on the trailer was in a single wheel barrow. That sucker was heavy. Finally got the pieces to finish the red Comanche front endWhat did you do to your Cherokee today?-photo264.jpg I didn't have the right grill or bezels before. The 8.25 will go in the Comanche since the dana 35 blew up. Now I want to go eat because I forgot breakfast.

Talking Wheel Hub Assembly

Today I replaced the passenger side wheel hub assembly. The wheel connect portion decided not to hang onto the base, and in the end I had to use the bolts to pop the base loose. All in all, a successful and easy enough change. Better than last time, when I had to use a cut tool to get the bastard off.

29 Degrees outside on the ground.. It was a good day.

Jeep died in the driveway 1 minute after starting it.

CEL Code 54.

Being that I replaced the crank sensor last week I took off the distributor cap to inspect the cam sensor when I saw that the distributor nub had broken off the top and dropped down into the distributor itself damaging the rotor and cam sensor.

On my 92 the distributor is like the renix era with the cam sensor on the inside not the little black plate on the top. there was a little bit of play in the distro shaft and the cost difference between just a sensor and a reman distro was under 20 bucks WITH the new sensor already in place I opted to just replace the entire thing rather than take apart the distro to put in a sensor and hope the little bit of play in the shaft stayed put.

Idle is even smoother and slightly lower, it seems to sound quieter under hood and at the exhaust. Maybe I’ll get an MPG or two out of it.

While in there I noticed a small leak at the heater control valve. So I’ll decide if I’m going to order molded hoses or by the foot from the parts palace. That’s a job for another day being that the broncos are getting ready to play.

Happy New Year everybody!!!!!

Weather is kind of mild today so I figured I would wash the Jeep and hit it with some spray wax.
