About a month ago I threw a serpentine belt on my way home from LA.
Thank god for AAA.
A seventy five mile flatbed tow home at 1AM in the morning.
When I took a look at why it shredded a belt, I found the pulley had a crack in it. When I was taking the pump off, I broke my 20+ year old reservoir tank.
So I bought a new Crown tank, and off course the stupid cap does not fit, and I could not find one that did.
SO I found this at Summit, and had it shipped to me. It is made by Moroso.
Kinda overkill, but it will never break.

Maybe overkill but is pretty cool. How do you know where your fluid level should be? Can you overfill a power steering pump?

I think as long as your above the return line (the AN6 fitting), you should be good to go?
After I flushed the system, and bleed it real good, I just added fluid an inch above the return line.
Seams to be working fine.
That tank is baffled internally, and has a dash10 feed line on the bottom.

Yeah that kinda makes sense. Thinking above the return line when cold. Wonder how the capacities compare. If you can't overfill a power steering pump and you are running more fluid then the stock reservoir holds does that mean it might run a tiny bit cooler?

Wheeled it!
Didn't get any good action shots, I was too busy driving it.

finally got the water pump swapped out after a misdelivery and it deciding to rain everytime i tried to change it. tried to put the header panel back on but the trans cooler im using it too big and the novak radiator is soo big is pushes everything to far forward to just trim the header panel. so i ordered one that will fit.

decided to drive around the block anyways and discovered the trans is starting in 3rd gear, no codes thrown. it will shift manually into the gears. current theory is a shift solenoid. irritates me cause the last time i drove it it worked fine, did a burnout and everything . and now i have a new problem i have to throw money at to get it back on the road.

sad thing is all i want at the moment is to just go cruising.

the ole 99 just got a fresh oil change for the winter. (same synth of course).
Then did new plugs, new wires, rotor and cap.
Wow did she need that. I think they very well could've been original to the jeep. When I took the plugs out and then I measured and they were sitting at nearly 60 thousands gap. Holy cow!
And the cap and rotor were darn near toast. I've changed a lot of these over the years... and this is a testament to Jeeps...
I've never seen a set that far gone and still working. I don't know how she was still even running, but she's much happier now

I'm drooling.
The green 1994 - 1995 cherokee country is my favorite xj of all time. With the exception of the black wagoneer.

Installed new motor mounts. I like to include tool **** when I get the opportunity.

And this neat oil filter. I'm still saving the highlights for the build thread though.

Shifts havent been smooth this week, so a little drivetrain upkeep. Flush n fill on the clutch and trans, and a thorough bleedout.

Well see how much else ill get around to today.

Did you run a hose to the full plug? When I filled mine I just pulled the shifter out the top and poured it in till it came out the plug on the side.

Yup, little funnel clamped to a long piece of 3/8 hose, easy peasy.

Also figured out where my damn clutch fluid ran off to. Peeked under the dash and sure enough, a bit of fluid on the inner boot. So the master has a slow leak. Flushed filled n bled, and she's shifting like butter now.

But i guess i can add a clutch master to her punchlist.

The clutch master on mine leaked inside the cab and that is a strong part of the rust and fuse box decay that my Comanche has, for now all the fuses work and the rust holes are patched, but I need to pull the dash out probably next summer and repair all the wiring and rust while doing a heater core and evaporator core.
