Looking killer man.

I fixed my ratty looking cables, theyll do for now till i pick up a new set from Mr Wonders.

New calipers.

Made some puddle-catchers for the cupholder.

And super fancy mock-up work, lol.

Other than that, just swapped out a chirpy idler pulley, did an oil change & chassis lube.

pulled the zj seats out to swap them for civic seats last week end, after a few hours work decided id rather keep the zj seats.

i ended up swapping the seat foam from passenger to driver to fix my gangsta lean. now the drivers seat is comfy and doesnt twist my legs to the side any more.

the foam took very little mods to switch side to side so id say its a win.

at some point id like the grab a new passenger seat bottom replace my current one since it now has the worn out driver foam in it

I've got a lot more pics, but the only way I can upload is through the app. I'll do a write up once the pic uploads get resolved. I'm actually using pre 97 doors, and having to do some custom work to make them work.
Damn, looks good there!

Default Bora wheel spacers

I installed a set of 1” Bora wheel spacers and Bora supplied black lug nut on my 2018 Trailhawk today . It gave me a chance to clean the black wheels and rotate the tires.
I took it for a short ride after the install and steering seemed to be slightly quicker with the small increase in track. Or it maybe just my imagination 🤔.
The wider track definitely looks much better on the TH.

So I picked up these for the license plate light. They fit comfortably. Off Ebay.

my novak radiator showed up today. pulled the front end apart and swapped in the original truck waterpump. took a little persuasion to mount the new xj condenser since the novak radiator is over double the thickness of the stock radiator.

got about as far as i can till i get some plate to fill in the section below the radiator that i cut out to fit the rad i just pulled out

First decently cold morning. XJ starts good, idles a bit tired, drives fine, and under wipers+defrosters+blower+lights+radio my voltage gauge drops considerably. Hopefully that's normal. Didn't pay attention when I had my '96

Maybe I need to rig up an idle boost switch...

Got back into a Jeep!!!.... for about 8 hours. Rented a 2018 WK2 with only 7500 miles on it. Was very nicely equipped, with leather interior with heated seats and steering wheel, remote start, and powered lift gate. Nice feature when it's starting to get below freezing.. V6 had ample pep and hardly felt the shifts from the 8 speed. About those heated seats though. They turned on every time I started the vehicle, and required navigating through touch screen menus in the stereo turn them off. Seems like they could have made a switch for those.

Default Finally Fixed a Lot of Stuff!

I finally got around to fixing a lot of stuff, and not sure which will take longer... the research into finding and purchasing the hardware, watching YouTube videos, or the work actually being done. lol

I have all sorts of plastic pieces breaking or just falling off. I live in San Tan Valley, AZ, where it gets really hot in the summer. Plastic pretty much turns to powder and just crumbles away. I also had a few bolts turn up missing and it was more of a challenge than I expected just finding those bolts. One is missing out of the rear lift gate catch, and the rear lift gate assist handle has one missing too. The arm rest vinyl popped out and there were other issues with the door panels, so I have 2 almost-new ones ready to install. Just missing the bolt/screw that goes into the recessed area under the interior door handle, on both sides. I have not identified that bolt/screw yet. I have been searching for two years for lift plate glass retainers, the bolt, and the nut for the window regulators and thanks to searching through old posts here, I found a supplier!! The washer sprayer on the rear broke off so I have that coming and will replace. A new beefier harness for my headlights and no I am not ready for the expense of getting two Truck Lite lamps although they are definitely on my list. I like the idea of a new relay harness that switches from the battery. It is suppose to give me more light out of my legacy OEM incandescent lamps. My electric fan can be heard two blocks away so that is getting replaced. My wife is tired of the front doors closing on her so two new Mopar OEM door checks and pins are coming.

No heat so going to reverse flush my heater core and try using some CLR to see if I can unclog it. Hopefully I won't have a leak inside. I'm not ready for that dash-removing fix yet and certainly do not want to pay to have it done.

It's just nit-picky stuff. She (my Jeep not my wife) purrs like a kitten and runs great. Still have a vacuum line issue, where the cruise control just turns on, and even engages out of nowhere, without any interaction from me. That's another marathon of reads of posts here and of course, learning more. The headlights sometimes turn off on their own about once or twice a year and I have to turn them off for about 10 seconds then turn them back on to get them to light. It has to be related to the delay they have turning off if turned off after the Jeep is shut off. That's for another day, Also, the dash turns off sometimes, again, once or twice a year, and I have to hit the console to get stuff to come back on. Ground wire issue behind the dash I suspect. I'm making another list to fix next round.

Anyway, much of what I researched took me back here, to these forums, and the info has been top-notch! I'm so thankful for that!!

That's what I'm doing to/for my Jeep today, this and next week. Feels good, and oh yeah, I love her with all my heart! 1998 XJ 4WD 4.0 Sport.

If i were you at the very least i would disconnect the cruise control at the throttle body until I got it sorted out. Sounds scary!
