Default I’m needing some help ???

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee my dash has the lights for my gauges .. so I recently blowed a head gasket .. put a brand new head all the gaskets too .. the water pump and Thermostat is brand new and since ive done all this it has started running hot .. I’ve flushed the radiator today it’s runiing around 190 with the heater wide open but with the air conditioner open it’s runs 210 and 220 so if I park after running the air conditioning the tempature steadily increases being that I have lights for my gauges (I also installed a manual one to the thermostat is how I’m getting my readings ) and once it gets to 230 you can water the water start bubbling in the reservoir And it starts pushing water to the reservoir .. Any ideas of what’s going on

Default Couple of things past few days,,,

I installed the upgraded battery cables, AutoPal Headlights and the upgraded headlight harness. May install my homemade hood lift strut pkg tomorrow! I pieced it together from ebay. I have about $32 in it ! Will post when I get it done.

Only mounts one way, because of the switch inside.

This the exact replacement part for the engine bay light. I was not satisfied with the way it is /was installed from factory. Just looks sloppy ! How are yours done ? Mine doesn't sit flat ? Has wiring behind it ? I'm going to fix it the way I like !

With the 4ga wire, you can still use the OEM cover where the positive lead connects to the alternator.

Upgraded headlight harness relays.

Military Grade Terminals!

I went with 4ga for ease of routing.

Out with the old !

Lets see

- Two new front wheel hubs installed, went like "butter".. (2 x $77 here in Ecuador)
- Oil adapter gasket, I think had never been replaced, was a bear to break loose, all ok after that.
- temp sensor, another very easy one
- oil sending unit, old one was leaking oil, new one fits fine but does not send signal, so have to get another one :-(
- Oil filter and new oil while at it
- wash and clean inside, full tank, feeling good.

I just moved here and I am short on tools, so my friendly local mechanic helped. Only $100. :-) And he let me work with him, we had a good time. :-)

For $100, letting you fiddle with your mechanic's "tools" is pretty good deal.

He had the 36mm socket and a looong breaker bar for the hubs. We also had to resort to warming up the oil adapter bolt to make it let go, so a soldering flame helped get it nice and toasty.
It would be great to have all these things but they are the kind you use once and store for years so for now I rather pay him, and enjoy the company... he also has a lift :-)

Next I have a set of battery cables (upgrade), the headlight wire harness to install. We have to go over the axle fluids and AT since I bought the car used and have no idea when any of it was last done. It is at 276K Km (around 135K miles?) :-)

Default A couple little things ,,,

I pulled the Dana 30 cover, drained the grease. Cleaned the mating surface and whole front axle, and the cover. Sanded the cover a little bit and painted it satin black. Cleaned up the bolts and drain plug. Put it back together with a Lube Locker and a brand of grease from Rural King, Mystik JT7 75w90 synthetic blend. Cleaned up my battery hold down and bolts/nuts. Adjusted my belt tension with my latest new toy. A Gates Krikit belt tension gauge. Was going to install my hood struts, but quit because it was about 90* !!!

Here's how it looks now with black headlight bezels and the AutoPal Eurobeam headlights. These things rock ! Plus I really like the stock appearance!

Here's a close up of the AutoPals. I installed these along with the headlight harness upgrade .

Headlight harness relays mounted on passenger fender behind the battery.
I also put a couple more stickers on the back window,,,

Been awhile since the last post, but last week I replaced the rear hatch supports, don't think that hatch has ever been this wide open before. Then this past weekend while I was at Lowes the pressure hose on the power steering pump let go in the parking lot. I replaced both hoses and the pump this evening. The pump didn't actually need replacing until I snapped the return nipple off of the reservoir on the back.

Someone i work with is selling an 87 4 door 2wd cherokee pioneer for $250 (two hundred and fifty dollars) and was wanting to know if i was interested. I think ill go and take a look in person this weekend. Clean title and apparently runs, although idk how well and i have no further information about it than that (miles etc). For $250, pending milage, do yall think there is margin for me to give it some elbow grease and flip it?

If he gave me $250 I might take it off his hands...
