pulled the driver fender off. to see if i can fix that leak from there. no go, sooo i gotta fix from inside, or seal it anyways. went to the junkyard for some seats and slider mounts, found exactly what i needed. couldn't get them because 4 out of 8 bolts are kinda rounded off. the rears on the passenger side came out, no rust on them. but the front one on that one, the mount hole broke off from rust. whole bolt came out of the floor. maybe gonna go back and take the seats off the slider bracket, and use one of those round nut takeroffers on the drivers side anyways. hopefully nothing else breaks from rust. passenger sliders are selling on ebay.

That's abetter pic (thanks). Those are Cleco pliers. Did the guy you bought the box and tools from do body or sheet metal work? If you look in the box you might find some Clecos.

Asked on a couple other forums and got the Cleco pliers answer. Seems they are used in the aerospace/aviation industry and that makes sense cause the guy I bought the box from said he fixed planes in the Army.
Box is nothing fancy but $100 seemed reasonable. I liked that the bottom had the 3 thinner drawers. No keys though but I might have a lock and key that I can put in the bottom.
People are asking about $15 for each of those Blue Point snap ring pliers. One guy trying to sell the whole set for $60. The short Snap On 1/2" drive breaker bar is on ebay for $25.
Somebody commented on the "Zombie Attack Mask" so I went to look that up. Thing is over $200 on this one site.
It is missing the plastic piece at the bottom center. But I think that is not overly important. There is a rubber flap there and that is where air comes out when you exhale. If I do any sandblasting thinking it will be fine for protection. All in all think I made out OK.

I have the Irwin set and it works amazing. That's the only way I got the seat out of the Comanche.
I'm finally getting somewhere with the jeep. I got the front flares installed today. So far this weekend I got the floors, inner/ outer rocker panels, and the seat bracket welded up primed and bed lined. I ran into a snafu when installing the driver's side flare. Two of the screws were too long and pierced the washer fluid tank. Black RTV to the rescue. I'm hoping to get it back together either today or tomorrow at least enough to get it inspected and back on the road in time for bantam. It won't be pretty just road worthy.
So yesterday I just took both of my drivers and passenger door off. When I had my driver door off and drove it around, it drove perfectly fine. However when I took off the passenger door and drove around I noticed that I didn’t have any gauges and after a while of driving my transmission was acting a little funny, as if it didn’t know when to change gears. I’m not sure what is wrong but what I’m thinking is that I am messed with some fuses on the passenger side, because on the kick panel there is a fuse box behind the piece of plastic. I feel like I must have done something to one of those fuses But I’m not sure. Any advice will be appreciated
So I'm taking a vacation this week, and it's the first vacay I've had in almost a decade. I decided to get some of my issues fixed with my XJ.
Got up early and replaced the center link, the one with the TRE on the end that is expensive and I've been putting it off. After the install and re-greasing all my zerks I took it for a drive on I75 on a national holiday. Seems the last TRE on that center link was most of my problem with this front end. No more vibration at 70 Mph.
So to date, I've done the ball joints, all the TRE, replaced the track bar with a Rough Country upgraded, adjustable version with a trackbar relocation to boot, new steering stabilizer, and the lift that is now about a year old.
I guess the only thing I need to do now for a brand spanking new front end suspension is replace the OEM tie bar and push out/replace the UCA bushings and install those new UCA's that are sitting in my garage.
I have all kinds of time this week so...time to get 'er done
Tomorrow, my new exhaust arrives. Got a MagnaFlow Cat and a cat-back exhaust kit. I am really hoping for a little more horsepower and one or 2 MPG increase...fingers and toes crossed.
The AC didnt work at all when i got it, and the fan only blew at the floor and on top. Found a disconnected port on the intake, fixed that. Still nothing. After crawling around under the dash i FINALLY found the actuator(damn RHD, nothing is where it should be). Sure enough, vac line was off. Plugged it in, vents are working.
On to the AC. Pulled the system down, sunuva***** theres no leaks! Grabbed the freon and threw a charge in... Pressure spiked to 100psi then oil and freon sprayed all over the LH apron.

Pulled it down again... Still no leaks. Well. Ok. Tried to charge it again, same result. WHAT THE HELL? Then i found where it was spraying out from, a weird allen keyed adjustment valve on the evaporator(???), and it was wide open. Pulled it down again, cranked the valve shut, charged it again.
35psi and ICE COLD air.
Then i really "fixed" the AC.
Once that cluster**** was done, finally cleaned and reinstalled the console I'd pulled to do the Boostwerks TC kit.
Then retorqued the track bar bracket, thankfully that got rid of the nasty clunking that i was hearing. That damn skidplate... really cool, but it REALLY gets in the way.
Then on to the spare. RHD mount isnt likely something ill find in the JY, so i got creative. Turns out a 2" exh hangar lines up perfectly with the factory holes. Winner.
Then i rewarded myself for my victories, lol. Tagged the glass.
After 1 year and 7 months of finally pulled it out of the garage. I ordered some more parts so, it will never be truly finished. I'm throwing in the towel for the day and going to work on grilling now.
Took the Jeeps up to the abandon pool, drove some rc cars, hung out with old friends and had a good time. Just noticed we both have matching door dents now.
