I used a semi gloss. The picture makes it a lot more shiny then it really is. And im not doing what looks good to me. I am going for what looks good to the majority since I am putting it up for sale soon. My opinion means nothing if not one person likes it.

If you want to add a touch more black to bring it all together, I'd tape off the tapered ends of the door moldings (where they curve in for clearance when you open the doors). If you only painted those indentations black, I think it'd be a nice touch. But I don't think it's worth the trouble if you're selling

I think so. Despite the fact that I am trying to turn my '00 Sport into a Limited clone one thing I never cared for was the bumper caps and door molding painted to match the color of the Jeep. Of course you could bedline them too.

I decided to do everything black from the moulding down to tie black from the bumpers together.

Front Bilsteins go on today if the weather holds up.

Like someone else mentioned... I would paint those if it were mine to tie it all together. But... with the grille silver it might make a difference in how it looks compared to having the grille blacked out, because the two are kind of tied together also.

You any good with photoshop or gimp? Take that picture and black out the trim and take another look at it and see what you think without actually painting it yet. Maybe someone here could help with that? Lol

To me the bumper caps and door molding when in just the textured black break up the color. Especially on red and white ones. Even the silver that is pictured above. Remember the old full size Broncos. Saw a red one once. I mean completely red. It was too much. Know how you can remove the roof in those things. If that part was black it would have improved the look so much IMO.

I agree, I think for myself it is the old muscle car look still influencing my personal choices. I was about to repaint the side trim on mine when I took this but mine came from the factory with the black trim and I really like the look. The only thing I was debating was whether to black out the wheels or not. lol

Now with that red one that is what I am talking about. Black grill, the headlight bezels, and the black bumpers with the black caps and door molding. Breaks up all that red. Of course that is just a personal preference. Black out the wheels? I could go back and forth on that one. If they are in really good shape. Minimal curb rash, etc I go with no. Especially since they have to be done right. So they last. That is why awhile back I was asking about getting my Ecco's Line-X'ed.

X2. My '00 seems to like them too. Won't even consider another plug. Of course you do have to keep an eye on the gap. I pull them every April to regap. Might just throw new ones in this year.

Since 5 speed is selling his I guess it would depend on what type of market he is trying to appeal to. Those who like the sports look or old 4th grade teachers. lol

But now he's done stepped in it with the black bumpers and flares. lol

You guys have me all confused now! I personally like the black door trim. But as mentioned, if I do that, I should do the grille black too. I was originally just going to pull the door trim off but the person who painted the Jeep, painted it with the trim on. So they have to stay. The good news about painting them is that the drivers side ones do have some scratches on them. So I could cover them up that way.
