Looked at it, contemplated putting in the new oil pressure sending unit. -1 degree, turned around and went back in.

Good question. I just bought this Jeep less than two months ago. The old man I bought it from said he "thinks" it has a LSD but is not sure. I have owned vehicles with and without LSDs and it feels like it is limited slip but I am still not 100% sure. I plan to change the gear oil in the rear diff soon so I will be able to check it out then. I know when I do donuts or play in the mud I always have both tires spinning. Have yet to get it to spin just one tire.

Yeah I do! It's kind of sketchy trying to film with my phone while trying to do a donut. That's why I did such a short one as a "test." Test concluded, I need a GoPro. LOL.

A few weeks back here on the CF we figured out an easy way to check. Just pull the fill plug and see if it has a conical shaped carrier or a "Can" shaped carrier. If it is a LSD it will be right at the opening and look like the bottom of a small coffee can. If the carrier is tapered and conical shaped inside it is an open diff.

Or I could jack up the axle on one side until that tire is off the ground, then put it in gear and see what happens.

Yes you could... and would only need to spin it by hand. But if the clutches are spun out on an LSD it might be hard to tell for sure.

did a perfectly even 11 coming up my drive the other day with all the snow. So I suspected it had an LSD. But after I pulled the cover to do diff service last week, it was confirmed.

Yeah I learned that one 30 years ago when I was in high school and we did a lot of street racing. Fun stuff.

Well, didn't do it to her, but got her spare keys and a spare FOB. A recent purchase, came with one key and one fob.

Have to start somewhere... :-)
