A Duke's Of Hazzard style U-turn. I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.

Good question. I just bought this Jeep less than two months ago. The old man I bought it from said he "thinks" it has a LSD but is not sure. I have owned vehicles with and without LSDs and it feels like it is limited slip but I am still not 100% sure. I plan to change the gear oil in the rear diff soon so I will be able to check it out then. I know when I do donuts or play in the mud I always have both tires spinning. Have yet to get it to spin just one tire.

A few weeks back here on the CF we figured out an easy way to check. Just pull the fill plug and see if it has a conical shaped carrier or a "Can" shaped carrier. If it is a LSD it will be right at the opening and look like the bottom of a small coffee can. If the carrier is tapered and conical shaped inside it is an open diff.

did a perfectly even 11 coming up my drive the other day with all the snow. So I suspected it had an LSD. But after I pulled the cover to do diff service last week, it was confirmed.

Well, didn't do it to her, but got her spare keys and a spare FOB. A recent purchase, came with one key and one fob.
Have to start somewhere... :-)
