Ya but what temp is it out? Below 40° if I had to guess.
Ya for the most part the wind is gone. Its more like a 10 mph breeze right now. Last night we still had 35 mph gust.

Same here, All that comes over us before it gets to you so we are upwind of about the same wind weather. Over the years I have noticed it has a lot to do with the jet stream being north or south of us here in the southwest.

Wow you guys definately got some crazy weather going on! I just came home for lunch and the wind is back in full force. No wind at work though.

pulled people out for a bit. 4 cars within 2 miles literally watched one slide off as I was pulling another out. People don't know how to drive in this stuff.

When you say Trac-Lok is that the Factory Limited Slip? If so I want that with the disc brake swap. Always hoping some day I will find an 8.25 3.55 rear with the Factory Limited Slip. Do the disc brake conversion and change over from a Command Trac to a Select A Trac. Figure one of the reasons I own a Jeep is to be able to get around when it snows and always figured that set up would make it a little better.
This raises a question with mine that has recently confused me. Mine has a Corporate 8.25 that spins like an open when it losses traction. But recently I noticed that when I am turning tight on dirt it is skipping in the back just like a posi does. Could it be that it is indeed a factory limited slip but the clutches are worn?
I know what a limited slip feels like in tight turns and this diff is acting this way. But like I say, When I hang one side it does freewheel like an open. It has me confused and wanted to find out if anyone else has experienced this before? Trying not to pull the cover just to find out if this is even possible.

That's the problem... Someone pulled any tags that were there and tossed them at some point before I got it. But I noticed it is starting to get a bit of a clunk when the oil is real hot from a long drive on a hot day, so I guess I should go and reset the lash and service it when I get a chance, I can tell for sure then when I pull the cover. I was just curious if someone had experienced this before, I am hoping this might be the case! 
Great idea! Don't know why I didn't think of this, Thank you. I guess I forgot it has a rubber plug instead of a threaded plug. Covers with the threaded plug tend to have more metal pushed in farther from stamping around the lip so that they can cut a few more threads into it. Those are sometimes hard to peek around because of depth and view angle.

Limited slip has a squared edge and the open carrier is sloped Attachment 400107
Bug, sounds like it would be a good time to service your diff anyway. When you pull the diff cover, check and see which carrier you have and then you'll know. If nothing else, if you see the LSD carrier, throw in a tube of the friction modifier in there, and maybe it will start working again. Never know. Worse-case scenario, it won't work until you get new clutches in there.

Yes. It is very common for the clutches to wear out and behave this way. You can buy new clutch kits to rebuild the LSD for about 150 on Rock Auto. I thought about rebuilding it, but after hearing everyone say the TracLok is null and void after 31" tires, I decided against it.
Bug, sounds like it would be a good time to service your diff anyway. When you pull the diff cover, check and see which carrier you have and then you'll know. If nothing else, if you see the LSD carrier, throw in a tube of the friction modifier in there, and maybe it will start working again. Never know. Worse-case scenario, it won't work until you get new clutches in there.

Today I replaced the body-to-liftgate harness. Two weeks ago the third brake light wire started shorting out my brake light fuse so i unplugged the harness. I had pulled a spare from the JY years ago with the intention of rebuilding it since they all go bad eventually, but i took a chance and just hooked it up today. I think everything works now, including the rear window defogger which hasn't worked since I bought the Jeep.
